Stock 2022 Toyota Tacoma TRD OR with Goodyear wrangler all-terrain adventure Tires on Snow!

Today on Legendary Trails we take our 2022 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off Road Long Bed Truck and try out some snow wheeling. Will the stock Goodyear wrangler all-terrain adventure tires be ok on snow or will they lose traction.

What fun in a new rig. I took my 21 LB Offroad right from the dealer to Tahuya State Forest ORV and ran it through the trails. Day later we got around 10" of snow, so off I went again. Pulled several vehicles out of the ditch and then found some deep snow and buried it up to its frame. Worked all of the bells & whistles, crawl, MTS, locker and traction boards, walked myself out of the snow. Have done the same this winter and cannot get enough of this truck so far! This year I tried the LSD in 2 wheel and it worked okay upto the point of wheel hop, then shifted to 4wd. Have fun and keep posting!🤠

Just put 265/75-16 “ tires on our ‘21 Tacoma TRD OR. Awesome tire, no rub, 1/2” more clearance with no lift. Keep the OR vids coming!! Enjoy!!

The tires are pretty good for the average person who doesn't off road. They are quiet on the highway and seem to have good traction in rain/snow. Off road they are not reliable. We have popped every one of them on simple gravel roads. Overall, I wouldn't buy another set since we off-road a lot.

For the doughnuts, did you hold the traction control button until the traction control turned off? Only asking so know that trick for the future to make it easier if you didn't already know!

Yeah, it tried to turn back on once before but we finally got it to turn off. It seems to not like staying off. 😕

You did not purchase your Trygg tire chains, and so could not bring them along in your fancy black tool box. 😢

We haven't purchased chains yet. We might change tire sizes in the future so we'll probably wait until we decided on that.

@@legendarytrails there is nothing wrong with the current size of tires on your Tacoma, adding extra and unnecessary rubber and wheel weight simply taxes your engine's already limited power. If your looking for better off road performance in soft sand ect. with your existing tires, try deflating them a bit. Br sure your reinflation equipment is up to the task of you know what. When it comes to chains, I have had very good luck with the Trygg's, they build chains for many offroad applications and have the most durable and longest lasting links. I did change the tires on my 19 Tacoma, not in size though just in tread design and and manufacture, Toyo M-55's. Good luck and please treat your pony as if it were your last.

@@legendarytrails I was thinking of bigger tires too but wanted a minor lift. I'm contemplating the factory lift then 265/75/16 to get a 1 inch bigger diameter if there's no rub with a full stuff. Not sure the factory lift would accommodate 285/75/16, it probably either needs a larger lift for those and lots other adjustments with spacers, control arms etc. Would also need to regear with the 285/75/16 if want better performance.
