Whats the real utility of a stock blender? Whats the most important aplication and the advantage?

It is a rolling mill with an overhead attachment to pick up the material and feed it in an alternating fashion back into the mill. this achieves blending which the mill on its own would not do. the alternative would be for a human operator to manually cut the output diagonally and fold it over to feed back in, or to roll up the output and feed it 90° rotated back into the mill. for large quantities of material doing it manually is difficult or impossible.

We don't feed our rubber back and forth alternately like this. We have a series of knives set up along the lower part of the mill to cut the rubber into straps, then the strips, then the strips come up around a guide roller, over the blender roll, and back into the mill.
