Awesome ! I have the 2015 Z71 Offroad, Extended Cab,,, same engine as yours,, same color too,,, haha ! I just recently put a 2" leveling kit on, which doesnt seem like a lot,,, but makes a big difference, BUT,,,, I`m going to reconfigure a way to remove, and reinstall the front chin guard easily just for offroad purposes. Just some friendly advice for your Colorado,,, you may want to use " Royal Purple " 5W-30 synthetic engine oil and a WIX oil filter,,, instead of the recommended Mobile 1 and GM oil filter,,,, Royal Purple is a lot better oil,,, and our 3.6 liter engines are actually a high performance motor. They use those same engines in the 6 cylinder Camaro,, and in the Cadillac,,, so as you can tell, they torque up really fast and therefore a high performance motor oil should be used if you plan on keeping the truck for a long time. Royal Purple is more expensive, but its worth the price in the long run. One 5 quart container is around $41 so you`re looking at about $50 in all with 6 quarts and a WIX filter is a little higher too, but its worth it. Cheers and happy 4 wheeling !

I realize it wasnt very rocky but youre still brave doing that without adding skid plates on the canyon. Biggest thing that scares me about taking mine off road is smashing up the transmission pan like Ive seen some people do.

The Z71 version of Colorado comes with skids, g80 locker and rancho offroad shocks

I own a 2017 Canyon All Terrain so I'm well aware of all that... there are still exposed areas that should have skid plates that will ruin your day real quick if you bounce on something without them. The transmission pan being the main unprotected area. There are videos of people mashing their trans pans in off-roading these trucks on rocky terrain.
