Odisha has been witnessing a rise in temperatures since the beginning of the month, with clear skies in interior regions and moisture-laden winds in coastal areas contributing to the warming trend.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted no significant change in weather conditions for the next 4-5 days but indicated a possibility of temperature dip within a week.
On Monday, Paralakhemundi in Gajapati district recorded the highest temperature at 36.6°C, followed by Balangir (36°C), Jharsuguda (35.6°C) and Sambalpur (35.2°C). The twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack registered 32.4°C and 30.6°C, lower than the previous day’s 34.9°C and 33°C, respectively, when six locations had recorded 35°C or more.
