Pl clarify my doubt: in calculating Book Value per share we have to take total assets-total liabilities, If you take like this,the remaining value will be zero sir, pl think. book value = total assets - total liabilities book value per share = book value/total number of shares price to book value = current price of the share / book value of share dividend = a small portion of the profit given to share holders dividend is calcuated as per the face value bonus 1:2 means 1 share will be added for every 2 shares, the price of the share will be decreased accondingly. stock split - to encourage retail investors, sometimes the stock value might be split to reduce the stock value. The total number of shares will be increased as per the split occured. the difference between bonus and stock split is the share capital. share capital will be increased in bonus where as the share capital will not be affected in stock split.
