The 30 Depth SF12 saw a mate from 16 moves ahed, Wondering from how far 50Depth SF14 would have seen a mate

Depends on the position, I’ve seen my personal stockfish 14 calculate forced mate in 47 (but as you play on it starts to find slightly faster checkmates and it ended up being like mate in 31 instead). When it is in an endgame though, if you have tablebase attached with the engine, you can see ridiculous mate numbers show up like mate in 76 even when the search depth is lower than the moves until checkmate

4:14 is a good checkmate win. But if i was there. i would of done "Rg1#" Because there is a rook on "h1" and the queen is on "f6" that would be a win.. But you do you. 😅

When you say Depth 50... Surely you just mean set to max 50 depth. To get to Depth 50 that quick you'd need a crazy computer with probably over 200 cores.

The games are played throughout the week, unfortunately have work during weekdays but when I get home I fire up the engine and get a good chunk of moves per day for the game 😆 I just edit out the time that the engine thinks

@@happygood18 yes, there’s an option on Lucas Chess In tool tab I believe. It’s called “create your own game” and from there you can analyze each move at a max depth of 50 by double clicking the move’s notation on the right. So for this vid, for example, I make a guessing move as white, then analyze it and get the best move stockfish sees at 50 depth. So I use that move instead, and relay black’s moves coming from the max engine. Then, cycle just repeats till the end. Fair warning though, it does take quite some time to analyze @ 50 depth 😭 Good luck and lmk any questions!

Hi! White can just play g3, but objectively speaking it’s not a *terrible* choice for black. It’s certainly playable!

Hi, it would be in your engine settings! When you start a game vs an engine, at least on the Lucas chess client, you will have choice of what depth to set the engine you’re facing at. Depends on the client you’re using though, if you’re using Lucas Chess and still have trouble lmk

@@hewardthediamond2997 Hey, look for “Levels” tab on top toolbar, then select the mode “fixed search depth” From here you can select what depth you wish to set Stockfish to. Hopefully this helps! Using Arena version 3.5.1 for reference, lmk if still having trouble

It's just won of the many moves that is mate in two, which is forced. So anything other than Qf8, Kf7 or Qg6 is best.
