I’m Swedish and I can tell you the same streets can look pretty drab in winter when you get around 6 hours of sunshine if any at all. There are days when it’s cloudy you feel like it’s all just one long night. Smoke that!

The Swedish social media pulls children away from their refugee mothers and fathers for no apparent reason, and deprives them of seeing them. Is this justice? What is the sin of an hours-old child they take from the delivery room, leaving a mother crying out of longing for her baby, and a father who does not know an explanation for that,,, It is for the Swedish state. This is what happens when McDonald's is cheaper and tastier than a healthy meal AKA a bland AF sad looking salad here in the states, and people driving everywhere with minimal walking involved. If I lived in some European country or Japan in an apartment block with a walkable city instead of suburbia with giant houses it's harder to be fat than thin.
@seanl7642 жыл бұрын
@@Daruma_Studio Na only poor / lower middle class people in the USA are fat. It's what happens when McDonalds/ Chick-fil-a is actually cheaper and tastier than healthy meals like a bland salad, the lack of cheap healthy food in the US is why Americans are Obese. Go to an Upper middle class neighborhood or a walkable city like New York, and you won't see a lot of obese people.

I mean, the total urban population of Stockholm is 1.6 million and not as dense as other comparable cities. The actual municipality of Stockholm, like city proper, is less than a million. So yeah, it's def going to be less stressful and hectic with that population. It's more akin to a medium-sized city. And you'd have to take account density as well. Stockholm is not as dense as other much larger cities. You'd have to compare Stockholm with other similar populated and similar density cities here in the US, not the big cities that you probably have in mind(NY, LA, Chicago, etc.). Any city that's climbing upwards to 2 mil and more, coupled with higher density(tall buildings and more people living in a smaller area), it's given that it's gonna be more hectic and busy. So like someone mentioned, it's apples to oranges what you're comparing lol

City noise in the background. Peaceful. You will not hear screams and swearing. Simple human communication. Relaxing. No one seems in a hurry or late. But this is the capital of a developed state, where it would seem that you should have a lot of things to do today. But no, here everything goes on as usual. Everything seems to have its own plan and everything has its own time. I like how everything is arranged here, but, alas, I have never been here myself. But I have seen other cities. Human anthills. Have you never been to Moscow? Everyone is in a hurry there, as if trying to catch up with the bygone days. Nobody looks happy. Smiling at strangers is considered weird.

I would love to visit some day, not only because of the Stieg Larsson books but also my favorite Swedish crime series, Annika Bengtzon. If in Stockholm, where would her office at Kvallspressen likely be located? I've read most of the books and but they give no actual location. And does the military base really exist? (the one that was bombed by the Red Wolf terrorists?) I cannot determine a reasonable location. It once said the base was near Stockholm. But then a description of the attack puts it at Lulea, which is nowhere nearby!

Very Clean…. Being from America, I can easily explain why!
@Joe-bs6hd2 жыл бұрын
because America is a melting pot of many different races and cultures, while here you can see its predominantly one certain race, which explains why it's so quiet, calm, peaceful, and clean.

Did anyone catch the fact there are no or very few overweight people? One of the only places in Western Europe where once you see it you cannot un see it. These are some tall people as well on average. It is a beautiful place to visit.

Moving hopefully to Sweden in a month...this is the weather in summer?
@dontmindme51632 жыл бұрын
Yeah June-August is usually just as amazing as this, mild weather, long days (Sun rises very early and stays up for many hours), usually 20-25 degrees on a good summer which is the most comfortable temperature if you ask me :) May and September are also pretty good most of the time! And of course, from time to time, the Swedish winter is amazing as well with lots of snow and sunshine - altough most of the time it’s just grey and dark 😅
