Did this EXACT journey to Oslo and back from Stockholm on 29th April this year, seen lots of deer and even a brown bear in Norway by the river glomma What got me about the trains was gap between seats and window and also the plastic either rubbish or sick bags but no sea sickness or turbulence on trains usually Also this is the crucial part for trip planning.... Left stockholm on time but arrived into Oslo an hour late. Going back to Stockholm from Oslo left 10 mins late and arrived back in Stockholm over an hour and a half late!! Thankfully flight home from Arlanda airport wasn't until the following morning but there's lots of stopping to allow other trains to pass, sudden maintenance works, changes of crew, wildlife on the tracks and delays are inevitable on this particular route. Definitely plan for delays as you need to for this one, its not Switzerland, Sj is nowhere near as punctual as SBB. All in all I had a good trip but would allow plenty of time for delays, its Scandinavia

Yeah, reliability doesn't seem to great in Sweden, three long distance trains this year I've used have been heavily delayed or cancelled. This particular one was annoying as was looking forward to the views from the train. Sounds like you got lucky with seeing brown bear!

Nice to see a decent lounge that the interrail pass is valid for. The Germans could learn something!

Hi there! I just watched your video on traveling from Stockholm to Oslo with SJ Intercity in 1st class. Looks like a comfortable journey! I'm curious, are there any particular scenic spots along the way that you'd recommend keeping an eye out for?

There are quite a few scenic spots along the line - personally I really like the views as you leave Stockholm central station!
