Stockholm is an amazing city and this was another video guide that took more than a week to produce. Please help me out by sharing this video where you can! It’s so disheartening to work so hard for so few views, and all you’re trying to do is help the world to see these places. Good karma is much appreciated! EDIT (24.07.2023) - I've been reliably informed that the Nobel Prizes are awarded at the Concert Hall, not City Hall - and AVICII Arena is not named for sponsorship reasons.

Great video as always, from my countrys capitol no less! Bit stunned you didn't enjoy Södermalm tho! That's my favourite part of Stockholm and I always recommend it to people. That's where all the good bars, restaurants, small shops etc are. If you only have time to see one part of Stockholm, Södermalm is the place! They even have their own Soho, called Sofo 😂 It's like the Brooklyn of Stockholm, or maybe Camden or the East End or something like that, if you know what I mean. 😊

Thank you for a lovely tour of Stockholm! It was mostly accurate, but there are a few things I'd like to correct: 1. Drottningholm Palace is the all-year-round main residence of the King and Queen of Sweden. 2. The Nobel Prize is not handed out in the Stockholm City Hall but in The Stockholm Concert Hall. The City Hall and specifically the mentioned Blue Hall is hosting the Nobel Prize banquet. 3. Globen (Avicii Arena) is not the largest concert venue (capacity 16000), next to it is Tele 2 Arena (capacity 31000) and outside of the city centre is Friends Arena (capacity 65000) 4. If you're not just into museums and/or sights, Södermalm is definitely worth a visit, it is one of the most vibrants parts of town when it comes to boutique shopping, restaurants and bars.
@UltimateBucketList
@UltimateBucketList 11 ай бұрын
Thanks for your comment. 1) I didn't actually know that. 2) I did know that, but got the details wrong when doing the voiceover. 3) I was referring to the largest indoor concert venue. Obviously an outdoor stadium would host much more. 4) Whilst I did mention shops, restaurants and bars - I found it to be lacking in actual attractions, hence why I mentioned that particular phrase. Thanks again for your input.

Hello Ninh! Now, I have been to Stockholm before. Twice. I’ve basically been to Djurgården, to visit Skansen, the viking museum, and Junibacken, which is a memorial museum to one of Sweden’s best authors: Astrid Lindgren. And the thing about Globen is that the reason it’s called the Avicii Arena is that it was done to pay tribute to the late Swedish DJ Avicii, who commited suicide in April 2018. BTW, after the Scandinavia videos, do you plan on doing the Baltic countries next?

An excellent video but I was sorry you were so dismissive about Sodermalm. I once had a nice holiday there and whilst it is not so scenic, compared to elsewhere in the city, it does have other merits. Not least of all the people, who are far more friendly than some of those in the city. In fact, I soon found out that the people in Sodermalm felt that residents from the more monied parts, snobbishly looked down their noses at them. Whereas I found people in Sodermalm to be far more open and down to earth! Perhaps though, this will be of little interest to the casual visitor, who might not be aware or care about such differences but I have always found that it's the people of a country that can make or break a holiday! Despite a division of class, Stockholm remains a great city, but I prefer and enjoy the city of Copenhagen Denmark, much more, where there is a good balance of places to see and a fun loving outgoing people to go with it!

Love Sweden, its Blonde Beautifuls, and now having seen their Oh-So-Beautiful Stockholm, love Swedes even more. Thank you Mr Ultimate Bucket List ! but please note, if we ever crossed paths in life, you would probably kick the bucket for the crime of calling ABBA songs 'cheesy''. On the day I'm feeling merciful, at the very least, expect some of your front teeth knocked back. Yes I agree with Stockholm and Swedes being amazing people in general. The term 'cheesy music' is actually a good thing where I'm from, and if you checked out my channel, you'll realise I'm an ABBA fan too. However, if you feel the need to exact violence and threaten death to someone you perceive has a different opinion to your own - I strongly suggest you seek professional help on the matter.

Watched a documentary about education, everyone speaking perfect English. I couldn't work out what part of UK it was. The education method seemed strange, turned out they were in Sweden.

11:50 I'm just an old man, but I still belive you would find more bars and clubs on Östermalm and Söder, perhaps even in Vasastan or Kungsholmen, than on central Norrmalm (which is also a pretty ugly area because of the socialists demolitions of cultural heritage in the 1950s, 60s and 70s).

Maybe, but I am correct in saying that there's not much in terms of attractions in Södermalm than there is in other parts of Stockholm, that was the main point.

@@UltimateBucketList Not sure how you mean here, but what's "correct" really depends on your taste and points of view! An attraction for mr A may be unattractive and boring for mr B, and vice versa.

Good video, nice city with much to do. However, I am not a fan of this cashless system as all transactions are/can be traced (with actual freedom limited) and much can be lost in a cyber attack. It seems like Stockholm is the most cashless city in the world.
@UltimateBucketList

I actually agree with you. Having a cashless society isn't a good thing. The only people that win from this are the banks.

I'd prefere that you have pronounced all swedish names in an english version. I am swedish and still would have wanted you to say "King's Garden" instead of Kungsträdgården... and so on.
@UltimateBucketList
@UltimateBucketList Жыл бұрын
I see your point, but that would probably make it confusing for the viewer if they ever get to Stockholm. The attractions are named in Swedish, so it'd be unreasonable to expect a non-Swedish person to figure out what it is if I listed them in English. At least if I listed the attractions in Swedish, they know what it's called and look for signs for them.
