Absolutely had a bad day it started out good. Set up my test with the DMV. Then when my wife got off work my son and I walked to meet up with her and walk home. Well there was a guy sitting infront of our neighbors apartment. Well we went inside are dinner then my wife went to go outside and that guy tried getting into our house. Luckily my wifes instinctively locked the door and got me. I called the cops and grabbed my gun. Well cops took him. Well an hour or 2 later. Someone else started pounding on the door next door so hard and laud we thought the guy came back.

FOR OWLS: Tie multiple fishing lines to trees or posts making them cross each other over the fenced area. My grandpa has that above his Whole backyard to protect his Koi pond and his chickens. Hope this helps 👍🏻

I mean I mentioned this before but it could help you in the future. You can use Crow/raven decoys the ones that you have on spare in your barn somewhere. Those are a natural enemy 2 an owl. The feud between the 2 species of birds dates back to prehistoric era i.e. When humans were still in caves. If you was to place a border of ravens/crows (as they travel in large groups) Around your property particularly where the birds are going to be sleeping it's going to naturally deter any owls from coming towards where man towards where the ravens or crows might be using nothing but primal fear. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mHmamKyeh7V3Z7M

Since owls are nocturnal predators, lights and bright flashes at night will deter them from your yard/coop. Make sure you install any lights outside your coop or structure, since indoor brightness could disrupt your chickens' sleep patterns.

Here where i am at (AK) we have a serious issue with 13 species of owl and another dozen species of eagle/hawk/falcon. Being as raptors are protected species, the only solution we have is either an automated scarecrow, or mesh canopies. tbh the mesh canopies really do the job and allow you to release said predators later. also planting a distraction grain field will encourage rodents to use said field and become fodder for your local raptors.

I had a feeling you might lose some turkeys to those water buckets. Turkeys and chickens don't do well when they fall into water like that. most of the time with a pond/lake they can get out by crawling up the bank, but in a water trough or bucket once they fall in and get wet and they're pretty much done.

I was telling y'all don't mess with the turkey like that, he will remember and come at you every time he sees you. We had a female (Royal Palm) turkey and a friend copied a noise she made, and after that every time she saw him she went after him. Every time. Even days later. We also had a male Bourbon (which is bigger than a Royal Palm) he got so mean. When we had to move we gave him to a farmer. He told us that he was going after the kids so they invited him (the turkey) to dinner. That's the short version of those two. Turkeys do not stop coming after you once they don't like you, even if you knowingly/unknowingly did nothing to them. The hats look so good on y'all.

Things you can try to deter owl attacks are: 1. Get a Rooster, they;ll help alert chickens to hide and take cover, while also fighting off the owl. 2. Electric shock perches, basically put a minor shock perch near the area, owl lands and gets shocked learns to stay away. Also remove perches in the immediate area. 3. Light the area up, owls are night hunters the light will help deter it easier to spot. 4. Owl/hawk decoys, Owls are generally territorial if they think the area is claimed they are less likely to attempt to invade it.

The reason that owls target a chicken's head is that the brain is an owl's favorite meal. Brains are high essential fats and protein and relatively easy to eat. Owls prefer to eat in seclusion rather than out in the open. They will sometimes tear off the head and eat it away in a tree. If the owl has time, it will come back to feed on the rest of the carcass.

Flair for the owl problem you are having I would recommend letting the local game wardens know that you have an owl killing livestock and see what they recommend doing. They may try to come in and relocate the owl so it isn’t harmed and you don’t have to worry about your livestock being messed with by it anymore.
