@@sheliaswelttk2535 Yeah, more reason I enjoy my day to day market decisions is that I'm being guided by a portfolio-coach, seeing that their entire skillset is built around going long and short at the same time, both employing profit-oriented strategy and laying off risk as a hedge against the inevitable downtrends, coupled with the exclusive information/analysis, it's quite impossible not to outperform. Netted over $1.5m in return on investment, since using a coach 2years and counting.

For me, ''Tracy Helene Aalvik'' turned out to be better and smarter than all the advisors I ever worked with till date, I’ve never met anyone with as much conviction.

It isn't a drawdown until you start hesitating to buy something you believe in lower. You loved it 20% lower but not 50%. "Let me see how this shakes out first" sets in. You would rather buy it 50% higher than another 20% leg lower. The markets job is to find your breaking point

there is the argument that if something is 30-50% lower than where you bought it, you got your valuation horribly wrong in the first place. Averaging down would simply be compounding your error?

You should only be taking out what can be taken out during downturns. Do not be tempted to sell. All that you invested over time (esp during upward trends) will be lost.

A textbook recession is defined by the GDP. We went negative in Q1 and reports are showing possible negative for Q2. Two negative quarters of GDP = recession. Unemployment literally does not matter as its not part of the textbook equation. I would guess unemployment happens after since you can't be sure you're in a recession till at least 6 months in. Once the word is out then companies will start laying off, tech has already started.

If you kept investing regularly leading into it and coming out of it, there would be significant gains over those decades from buying low. The market is up two out of every three years on average. Buying in regular intervals has yielded positive returns over the majority of most 3-5 year periods.

Senator Joe Manchin publicly pulled his support from the bill for not matching his envisioned cost of about $1.75 trillion, then subsequently retracted support for his own compromise legislation. This effectively killed the bill as it needs 50 senators to pass via reconciliation and all 50 Republican Senators opposed the bill, and there are minimal discussions with him to salvage its contents as of June 2022. It appears that MAGA and Build Back Better have failed. In 2024, the slogan will be "make America solvent again".

I'm not sure the panel actually gets it. The market, and the country, is starting to realize that, as Jamie Dimon remarked, there's a hurricane on the horizon... and the people at the helm don't have a clue as to what to do. The numbers are reflective, not indicative... they reflect what people are thinking instead of telling you what people should be thinking. Technical analysis won't get us out of this... it's a fundamentals problem. We have a limitation on energy supply, and because there's more of a demand for energy than there is supply the prices are going to continue to rise. Look at the # of days of diesel on hand and how that number has decreased since earlier this year (before the Ukrainian invasion). We don't have the refining capacity to supply the diesel we'd need for a pre-COVID economy. Everything is influenced by the price of diesel... everything. The Russian-Ukrainian War has put a crimp in the supply of fundamental ingredients for fertilizer, as well as putting a crimp in the global supply of wheat and other foodstuffs. So, we're running out of food and fuel, and because of policy decisions since January 2021 we cannot quickly address either of these issues. It will take a year to get energy as available as it was back in early 2020, and that assumes the Biden Administration completely reverses its energy policies... and that simply isn't going to happen. The stock market is going to go below 20K... you heard it here first. Because of the fundamental challenges that the Biden Administration will not address due to ideological blinders. Welcome to 1978... let's hope there's a Reagan on the horizon. BTW I lived through that time... and I'm up 25% on the year because I've been betting against the idiots, and winning. Maybe, just maybe, dumping helicopter loads of cash down onto the economy to stimulate demand when there was no one working to ensure supply kept up was not such a good idea?

DXY according to my calculation must be at 108.8 ...but at 103.74 putting gold at 1854 instead of 1801...Gold has 2 necks ...first a speculative asset then an inflation hedge. It always act like that for me. Gold should have fall according to indices move and then when dollar strengthens. Gold must go down in this scenario until inflation runoff occur. Fed is still doing good job. I change my view on the Fed they are very smart economists trying to fix Wallstreet corruption. 100% sure wall street is problem based on business modelling which allow them certain things only they can get away with.

@eric kanter They don't have to cool it down with demand destruction. Another way to cool down inflation is with fiscal spending -- if you could get the Dems and the GOP to unify on certain projects such as solving the energy crisis we now find ourselves in. We had a manhattan project to crack the split-the atom problem. We sent people to the moon. We have amazing aviation and submarines. A little energy generation problem should be something our physicists could spit out in a few months if properly motivated. Let's give that cold fusion another look, given the Navy proved it works. I know a tech company that is valued at HALF it's cash reserves rn. Don't own it but as soon as interest rates are pipped down I am diving straight in! 🤗 This firm is in penny stock territory now so really tempting just buying a small position hoping for a buyout even thought they don't seem like they would allow it....that is the reason they raised the cash...soon as interest rates go back down they will rocket up expecially if they used the cash to buy smaller competitors.
