Stoeger P3000 review from a retired cop

Nice review. Like you, I picked mine up around a year ago. One of our local shops had just got a batch of them in. Grabbed it before it was gone. I've had 870s and a Mossberg 500 before, but eventually sold or traded them in. This Stoeger however, isn't going anywhere! I've been pleasantly surprised by it.

Yes they are very good for the price. I couldn't believe it when I saw the price so I bought it. I only went to the store for a holster & some ammo then.... well you guys know the rest. It just happens that way sometimes.

The +2 is +2 3" shells. Loading with the 2 3/4 will allow more shells.

I went a completely other direction. I purchased the mossberg 590A1 with no complaints. However, I admit for my needs i went way overboard and the maverick 88 would have definitely been a fine choice. The punishment tests I've watched placed it a solid competitor to models way above its price range. ​@@Duncanate

I bought one on a whim a couple years ago and I’m surprised by all the good reviews. I’ve had no problems shooting it either. Of course for the price there are a few tradeoffs, it’s definitely not a top of the line item, but overall very few complaints.

My only big complaint about the P3000 is the extreme recoil due to the gun being so light. Felt like Mike Tyson was punching my shoulder every time I shot it. Hopefully a butt and cheek pad fix that.

I won a new production 870 at a local DU event. It looked like the guns of old. But…. A light mist made it rust in 5 hours. It went bye bye fast. I’m a Stoeger fan, now. Just an update.

Could this take any kind of ammo? I’m worried because my pump I currently have is really picky with ammo and I just want something that will feed well

Thank you. I did 17 years. A very serious injury ended my career last year. I’m thankful to be walking mostly normal again. But stairs give me a lot of trouble (keeping my balance) and I’ll likely never run again.

Is it possible to pull the trigger when it's forearm not fully pushed. That causes a big safety concern to me.

Ama.harbi harbi çok.guzel tüfek döner kafa sistemi çok sağlıklı hertürlü pozisyonda besleme yapıyorsun işçilik çok iyi şu mekanizma olayı problemli ama tüfek 2019 üretimi bemim belkide o yüzdendir birde el kundağı uzun side saddle takmak istediğinde ya 4lu tercih edicen yada el kundagini kesmek zorunda kalican

Can you add info for magazine extension and nut? Can find magazine and spring but nut availability doesn’t list Stoeger. Is there a Benelli equivalent?

They certainly earned that reputation during the freedom firearm group years. Let’s see if they do better now…. I won a new rem arms 870 at a du dinner…seems to be OK so far…. I’ll check back in with ya after duck season.
