With so many untouched troops they could have destroyed d-day in its beginning or put even more pressure on Soviets which would killed them. Also they possible could have restarted north African front but allies alredy landed in Sicily so they probably have naval superiority. But Italy just ducking sits there..

@@Nothing-1w3 the ai is more prone to naval invading Italy either before or after dday to create a front with Italy. With most tiles in Italy being able to be naval invaded. A good amount of troops need to be placed in Italy bc if Germany loses Italy and has another front from Austria and Vichy France, it'll lead to the downfall of Germany. But I see where your coming from, some troops would be better placed in the west wall or against the soivets for a faster push

Good suggestion. Its too quick and difficult for me to read, so I try and pause and the timer line appears over the top. But the text add to the story and make it seem more real, so please keep them.

Cypress77 the Russians were pushing back before d-day lol. They started their counter offensive in 1943 and it started really getting going by early 1944 about 5-6 months before d-day!

My great grandfather was in the Swiss army during WW2. I have his head-warmer which was to be worn under the helmet for when it gets cold. A story from my grandmother was how the Swiss placed a bunch of cheese on a bridge for the Germans to take it, perhaps a way to keep peace.

It’s pretty miraculous how Switzerland managed to stay neutral, not get invaded by the Nazis, not get invaded by the Italians, and also avoid conflict with the allies. Literally EVERYONE around them were killing each other and somehow they, mostly, dodged the conflict. It’s mind boggling.

And since Switzerland was Naturally pretty protected by Mountains, they really had to only focus on 2-4 major streets. There was also an Plan to invade Switzerland, it was called: Operation Weihnachtsbaum I belive or I have been fed completely false and made up information

Observe mode can show only one nation/faction at a time only fow off command can show all divisions but its not this well animated by any extent at all and there is no way christopher actually did animate this cause it would be too difficult and time consuming for something such as a timelapse christopher needs to make a tutorial video as a follow up to all of these amazing timelapses the hoi4 modding community depends on this fact! A good universal color for Red, Blue, Pink, and Black is Dark Green. Use that instead of white for the bottom text. It's literally unreadable in the current color. But great timelapse nonetheless. It earned you a new sub.

This video is outstanding, sad the bad guys won but just take a look at Italy, Bulgaria Hungary and Romania!!! They were utterly useless, like literally camping all of their forces in their countries when they could easily defend both the Normandy, Greece and Sicily!! They could defend the West and South while the East was being conquered. I wish the AI would organize a landing in my game. I ended up getting a unplanned historical setting in 1943 and if the allies landed anywhere it would add a great tactical flavor.

Italy was patrolling their ports or else allies would have landed easily in Italy and created a new front in Europe, and probably some troops were still on URSS border, hoi4 just use to put different country troops under the same flag when you zoom out

In reality Soviets were getting plenty of help from the west. Not soldiers, but they might have lost without Lend Lease, fuel, trucks etc.
