The notes that I prepared after watching the video : Introduction Core principles: 1. Dichotomy of control. • Determining what is in your control and what's not. • You can't control external events, but you can control your responses to them. • Can control : opinions, beliefs, actions, behaviors, judgement, and desires (choose desire for wisdom). In short, our input to any external event. • Can't control : other's actions, external events, random events, things like genetics, inevitable aging, reputation. • Provides sense of freedom. 2. Virtue as the highest good. • Ability to judge right and wrong. Providing justification to your daily actions. In short, having good qualities. • Being virtuous is enough for being happy. 3. Living acc. To nature. Acknowledging the divine order. Includes acceptance of fate. 4. Emotional resilience Don't let your emotions overweigh you. 5. Daily practice and reflection. Application of your knowledge. Reflecting on your daily actions and thoughts. Euroia biou - smooth flow of life, living in agreement with nature. Te phusei- living acc. To nature Kathekon- We should also provide value to the society in addition to our family. Zeno of citium -Focus on inner wealth. -good virtues are basic -dichotomy of control -emotional resilience -cosmopolitanism Epictectus -React rationally rather than emotionally -your responses are always in your control. -role ethics: Everybody has their role. -Justice -wisdom -perceptions influence our emotions. (e.g a strict teacher and a student) Arrian - a student of Epictectus -Daily reflection : for your improvement. Analyse your shortcomings and improve them. -Negative visualization: Be prepared for the worst. Have your controlled responses to those situations. -Barrier to conversation : Avoiding unnecessary conflicts and negative conversations and people. -Mindful Acceptance: Change that you can. Don't spend energy on things that you can't change. Seneca -utilization of time -physical death is not the death of my ideas. -use of adversity for growth. -facing a challenge with composure. He faced death with sheer composure. -WISDOM, COURAGE, JUSTICE, TEMPRANCE -shortness of life. So time management is necessary. -life: insignificant when compared to the universe. But if it's utilized effectively, it's long enough. -visualize your adversities. Be prepared for potential challenges. Have backup plans. But don't get depressed by thinking about those adversities. Prepare yourself for those times. I WILL OVERCOME THOSE ADVERSITIES. -self-sufficiency: focus on inner peace. -Reinforce your positive habits. -Daily reflections - written or mentally Marcus Aurelius -forgiveness -patience -focus on virtue -being present. -Compassion -Gratitude of being in present. -internal happiness. Practices: -daily reflections : what you can do to improve yourself -visualization -prepare for your adversities -voluntary discomfort -bird's view to things Criticism -overemphasis on rationality ; ignored human experiences -lack of passion -individualistic approach -elitism -promoting apathy Thank u so much brother.

Stoicism is probably the best Philosophy cause all successful people follow it in someform or the other ... whether it is a warrior,sportsman , scientist or bussinessman etc..
@alphabet-design4 ай бұрын
Not really i think so because the absurdism is the best i know philosophy is subjective but i think so that the person who is successful in this world doesnt matter because the world doesnt matter at all no one will ever remember them like newton and others the world doesn't matter at all it's absurd

Marcus Aurelius is such an inspirational figure. I believe Stoicism really was successful to discover the best way of living life. Well every good philosophy is hard to embody but you gotta keep practising it till it becomes your natural response to the adversities in life. Great video, One of its kind i must say. I would love a dedicated lecture on Marcus Aurelius. Much love to everyone

Great Video Brother! You are the only one who explained stoicism in hindi at concise manner also your approach is neutral, as you took criticism as well. The main thing I am curious about is your thoughts on the points you explained of stoicism, I am not depending on your thoughts, that whatever you will say I will going to follow, just want to maintain a well perspective and by knowing your perspective it can become the more compound and whole thought. Keep it up! all the best for future.

Does anyone agree with me on the fact that, Bhagavat Gita’s teachings are kinda similar with Stoicism. You can perform your duties you are destined with but not entitled to control the events or enjoy the fruition. Therefore, refrain yourself from the attachment of success and failure. Kinda similar I find.

During listening your lecture on stoicism. I think stoicism is based on tolerance but excess tolerance leads to being supressed. Because people will think he is weak thats why he is not responding . What about it? Sir please answer me.
