STOKKE DIY- I upcycle an old Tripp Trapp Stokke chair!

We have so many baby friends now, that the time had come to get an extra chair for guests and visits to daddy's office. I really loved the idea of trying to upcycle a used chair, as I did not want to spend full price but also from an environmental perspective. I found a really old worn chair, bought some paint and a solution for secure seating.
Watch me take it all apart, preserve the logo and paint the chair. I tell you all about it as I go and then I put it all back together.
It was so much fun and I ended up with a great chair for a third of the cost of a new one. Enjoy!

Interesting comment! I’m sure all normal parents do their very best and take really good care with their babies 😊 had the windows and doors open for this very reason including when painting. Vacuumed carefully as I was going over the pieces. So will take this as a loving comment that you just could not hold back, and urge that we trust other people know what they are doing around their kids.

@@MrsKjrstad I suggest you do some reading on PPE. Adults should wear a mask when sanding, especially indoors. Babies just shouldn't be there. I do not mean this in a mean way, but this is a somewhat educational video which a lot of people have watched, and rather than trusting they all know what they're doing you have a little responsibility to tell them best practice (especially if you are not demonstrating it in your video).

@@sampangolin what ever way you mean it, I meant what I said too. I think people do their best and that advice should be given to others when asked for. I loved your video! I would like to know, is it special paint for wood? Did you stain your house a lot with paint or sanding dust?

Thank you! 😃 I actually used paint that is for metal. But either wood or metal paint works. Did not have any staining at all, as I used paper to cover the floor. When sanding down the pieces there was little dust, my chair had a coat of some sort so it was just the smooth the surface. Good luck 😃👏

How fun! I hope you become happy with your result 😃👌🏻 The old chair do not match with the new trays and seats. Either you can buy a harness like I did or search for the old seats and solutions. I found them easily just by googling 😃 good luck!

How many liters paint are required for two chairs ?

Not much at all. I guess it depends on the paint you buy, but the paint that I have in the video was a 0,5 liter can and I used less than a quarter of that for 2 coats 😊✅

Thank you! 😃🙏 no, I just painted. The paint that I bought was really good. All food / pens / stains wipes off easily and no damage to the paint yet
