For anyone interested in Stokowski, there's a recent 6CD 'ICA Classics' set of assorted BBC radio broadcasts taken from his last years in London. Each CD contains a major symphony, starting with Mahler's "Resurrection" in its first Proms performance. You also get Shostakovich's 5th, Vaughan Williams's 8th, Berlioz's "Fantastique," Beethoven's 7th, Brahms's 4th and the Franck in D minor. There are lots of other works in the set, which 'Gramophone' critic Rob Cowan described as "wonderful," so click this link for full details ... kzbin.info/www/bejne/r52cZ36sZb2DrKs
