Stolen RV Pursuit in San Fernando Valley

The pursuit of a stolen RV ended in a violent crash near Tampa Avenue and Wells Drive in Tarzana Tuesday evening.
A wild and reckless driver, later identified as Julie Ann Rainbird, 52, led authorities on a high-speed chase through the San Fernando Valley that began in the Santa Clarita area just before 7 p.m.
At one point during the chase, a dog the woman had with her in the RV managed to jump out and rolled a few times before getting up and running away. Another dog then came to sit at the front of a badly damaged RV with the driver as the chase continued.
The pursuit ended when the suspect drove into a residential neighborhood in Tarzana and was unable to navigate a curve on the road resulting in the RV violently crashing into another car that was pulling into a driveway and injuring that driver before crashing into a tree.

The driver, Julie Ann Rainbird, is facing 14 years with all charges. $395,000 bail bond. Assume she is still in jail. She bought the RV with a stolen credit card. The RV dealer realising the card was stolen, reported the RV stolen. The two dogs microchipped to another owner who could not be contacted due to old contact numbers. The dogs were adopted by a family in Oregon who had been keeping up with the dogs story.

For anyone watching this years after the fact like me, the dogs were recovered and treated for injuries and pet rescue Foxy and Friends were going to adopt them out as a bonded pair (I’m hoping that happened.) the driver was sentenced to 8 years in prison, and the dogs were microchipped but not to the driver of the RV. So they were probably stolen as well. I hope the people she hurt and the dogs have all recovered and the dogs are now in living forever homes.

The first person she hit is lucky to survive that. Front driver's side crashes at high speeds usually don't end well, especially with something that big hitting you. I have 2 metal plates in my left forearm, had multiple broken ribs and collapsed lung on my left side because of a crash like this. But I was hit by a pickup truck, not an RV. And the adrenaline will make you think you're fine and not feel pain or injury for a while.
