@@tgbluewolf I agree about the romanticism, but I'm glad the true history and respect for Native American people was learned in the early 1970s with films such as Soldier Blue and Eagle's Wing. @TSGP-p6e5 ай бұрын
@@CarolFremel-my4hs i respectfully disagree. Native men did not take women just because they liked the way they looked. It was out of necessity after soldiers raped and killed the women and children while the men were hunting. They weren’t just raped. Their uterus were cut out from the inside and the soldiers wore them on their heads like trophy hats. It was out of necessity and survival the women were taken to raise families. Some of them were lucky enough to find love and never wanted to return to “civilized” life. So yes they were taken for survival of the people but most native men aren’t as superficial going only on looks. They admired intelligence, goodness of a woman inside and out, generosity and compassion. Sure they notice attractive women they aren’t dead. That’s not how they pick a wife.

I am extremely proud of my Cherokee heritage. I wish I still had my sweet little paternal Grandmother. She was full Cherokee from Dahlonega, Ga. I have so many questions I'd love to ask her. She lived on the side of a mountain in the beautiful Blue Ridge. She was a tiny woman who always wore long dresses with an apron and she wore her long white hair up in a bun. I still remember her fragrance...a sweet perfume and the snuff she kept in her pocket. Her face was full of deep wrinkles and her eyes always twinkled with that precious smile. One of the things that stands out in my memory as a child was her talking about the 'Trail of Tears', which broke my heart. Of course I'd also love to still have my maternal Grandmother who was Scot/Irish. I hope to see them and all of my family again in Heaven.❤

My grandmother was Apache. Not full blooded. My grandfather was half. But she had long hair and wore braided in a low bun. She had many grandkids. I was her favorite with no apologies to none. She was awsome. She taught me much. Things that now I can not remember due to bs in life. But her i can remember every detail. Every smile. Every time she wanted to be rude and would not. I most likely took after her more than the rest. I was as she was. Always helps relationships..... She also had wolves in her life. Hers was as loyal as mine. She adored them.
