Thanks so much Jens, currently working on these exact things now! I love your personality and stoke in all your videos, totally contagious and puts a smile on my face to see how much you enjoy this! Been watching many of your videos and have been using them to work on the basics over here in Colorado (Beaver Creek and Vail), I wish I could make it out there for a freestyle camp - maybe someday I can travel out there, would be totally worth it! If you are ever around in Colorado, would love to learn from you!

I find I can only ski switch looking left. Pretty good with it but looking over my right shoulder is like I've never skied switch before lol
@StompItTutorials2 жыл бұрын
That used to be the case so I just learned to spin left (unnatural) instead of learning to look over the other shoulder. Silly. Practise both its important. Now I can ski looking over any shoulder it just takes some time to get used to.

When I first learned skiing switch I used smaller skis, that helped a lot because I got caught a lot on the edges on my normal skis. That first slope where they started to practice actually looked quite intimidating to ski switch for the first time. That kid was a fast learner.

@ljshoreslokal2 жыл бұрын
Great video Jens! Do you keep your boots loose anytime you're in the park? I'm a total noob but I feel like loosening my boots would help my pop a lot more. Jumping with tight boots seems to throw me off balance a bit. Thank you!
@StompItTutorials2 жыл бұрын
Great your bring it up. Once you learn to pop tiny side hits its good to have them open. The lack of movement in the boots often makes people move in ways they never would in their socks. When you learn to pop nice on simple side hits start tighning them a bit. When I ride the park hard I have the butter rather tight for maximum controll.

This might be a basic question but do you start switch or do you 180 into switch from the top of the slope

I have trouble being backseated on drops sometimes when i drop of but mostly when I land just because the impact is so big sometimes I kinda absorb it by going back or even backstabbing, any tips? I'm also trying to do 360's but find myself not fully spinning or leaving my ski behind me more than I should. Currently working on skiing switch with my unnatural side but feel good and think I'm improving my form.
@StompItTutorials2 жыл бұрын
For the drops. First go jump lots and lots of jumps and try the 4 point landing. Land and flex the front of the boots down. When your used to that you probably will dare to land with a Stomp from drops too.

@@StompItTutorials I live in Zürich and come to Laax quite often (yesterday for example). Sometimes I take days off work to come to the park when it is not too busy. I am a solid skier with a racing background. I can do 180s, ski switch, but not look over only one shoulder and barely 50-50 boxes. I would be mainly interested in learning to spin more and playful skiing like butters, but open to learn any kind of freestyle.

New subscriber to this channel! :) Question, I noticed that while watching this video, Jens when you ski (switch especially), your skis are not perfectly parallel, but rather one ski is more ahead of the other one. When you ski in general, should your skis be perfectly parallel and legs closer together?
@StompItTutorials2 жыл бұрын
Always strive for perfectly paralell skis. When I ski switch faster and carvingI can keep them very parallel but when skiing this slow its challenging to keep them parallel at all times :)
