Watching Joaquin talk about how she was in a school where many people didn't take pride in their cheer team, it reminds I wanted to tryout for my high school cheer team back in Chicago, but they always had beauty standards like only girls who are pretty face, big chest, big butt, and pretty much known can be a Longwood cheerleader, not a girl like me who is really religious and does not fit that beauty standard. because of it I was afraid to tryout because I was afraid that I was going to be ridiculed because of my appearance and personality. It was not until I moved to Nashville and started coming out of my shell a little more and started realizing that the only way to make a dance/cheer team is to just be yourself and show everyone your talent and because of it, I made the dance/cheer team in high school and I made cheerleading in college. My advice I would give to anyone who wants to be a cheerleader or dancer is to have confidence of yourself and show everyone the best what God gave you.
