Steve Winwood has such a smooth voice and is perfect for Yamashta's music.

I was 19. Working at a Record Co. in Morton Grove Illinois. I don't know how or why I got this record but I used to go home after work in the dead of Winter and play this with candles burning. All I had was my stereo, a beanbag on my shag carpet and my LP's. Not much else. When my woman wasn't there I didn't mind....just me and the tunes, the shadows and the candles. Sigh. Sounds pretty good to me now.

All I can say is WOW! Never heard band, brought here by a huge prog rock playlist. Going to look more into this band and DL some albums.

Winwood is a legend. His pieces frequently belong in a classical music amphitheatre. Not easy to get into the fast paced mainstream. I'm not taking anything away from the other genuis musicians making this. Winwood attracts the best of the best.

I am so gratified that you chose to Post the first four continuous cuts on this LP: These are the cuts that made me keep the LP for all these years. Al Dimeola does all the guitar solo-work from cut 5 on, but the stellar work you're hearing here, in cut 4, is by someone I've never heard of anywhere else, Pat Thrall. Stomu Yamashta's Music is atmospheric, and moody, right where I live, Michael Shrieve's drumming is great of course, and Steve Winwood? He's Steve Winwood.

Pat Thrall played guitar for Automatic Man, and played lots of other places.
