Have been there many times used to take our kids camping there during the summers. The fence at the top has been somthing my wife has never stoped talking about. There are museum's the train ride , a zoo. Camping .lots to do but the lazer show is one of the coolest thing ever... everyone should experiance this place.

There are museum's what? If you mean more than one museum, there shouldn't be an apostrophe there. It's just "museums".

Wow what a completely over the top lazer show. Whoever planned that just said "fuck it, use everything we got then go get some more stuff as well". And yep, let's have some lady screaming the song for 45 min. Just because we can. You gotta love an 'all-in' commitment!

The company Breyer has made breyer models of famous civil war horses, despite what side of the war they were one. I want to get them all to honor them, they didn’t choose what side they were one, but should be remembered and honor for their bravery and courage in battle. I also want to see them in museum just to see them, though I’ll note, Comanche is labeled the last survivor of one of the battles, he wasn’t some others had survived as well but he was the most honored and remembered for it. He too is taxidermied and on display at a museum.

No one wants to erase history, they just believe that the confederacy does not deserve to be honored. The confederacy was a the enemy of the USA.
@kevinbarbieux7673

That’s just hilarious, the confederacy was created in a desire to leave the USA. The confederacy does not/ did not/ want to be part of the USA. The confederacy lost the war. The confederacy is dead.
@correllian44601
@correllian44601 5 жыл бұрын
I don't wish to erase it, some of the Confederacy's generals were great tacticians whose strategies are still studied today. Lee is in that category, and he was also smart enough to know when the fight was over and it was time to surrender. But, they did commit treason, and they did attempt to split apart a country, and they did lose.
@correllian44601
@correllian44601 5 жыл бұрын
The confederacy was a part of the USA that started a war in an attempt to split away. Then they lost, and was reabsorbed into the USA. They never really split off successfully.
@correllian44601
@correllian44601 5 жыл бұрын
@Rob S You apparently missed my post above crediting the Confederacy's generals with their leadership and tactics, and Lee for knowing when the fight was over and it was time to surrender. I don't discredit the Confederacy completely, however they did lose, they were traitors, and they were fighting for the right to own other human beings. And they did lose. None of that means I don't respect the abilities of the Confederacy's military commanders, their contribution to history, or the downhome hospitality the South is famous for. You are starting to sound like a broken record.

I was born in Atlanta, Georgia. And it makes me sick when people associate the state, especially Stone Mountain, with racism. And it kinda makes me think that other people think that if you were born Georgia or any other Confederate state you’re automatically racist. It’s not true. I refuse to believe that. And Stone Mountain is a big part of my childhood.

I used to work there, actually. I left partially because I got. very tired of losing work days because the KKK would show up for events/rallies and the official response from management was just to not have the attractions be open on those days after a rally happened and nine people were arrested. Sometimes we wouldn't even know if there was going to be an event; one time an antifa lady showed up and demanded we tell her "where we were hiding the Nazis" and we were just "wh-what are you talking about?" and then we were like "okay so they're showing up tomorrow.... what do we do?" Long story short, I wasn't being paid enough to deal with any of it. If anyone is wanting to avoid the Klan, though, they normally show up in Spring, last I was aware, so. any other time of the year should be okay? though they randomly showed up in January one year and then didn't show in Spring so. they're at least a once a year deal. But anyway, yeah, "strange at times" is definitely the best way to describe all of the entertainment at Stone Mountain Park. Have you been to the Historic Square? With the historical buildings? That's the part where I had worked. Not much changes over there, but the tours can be nice. And we did education stations for field trips that I was fond of.

Let me give you a little history lesson young lady. Because you haven't done yours. Robert Lee was actually against Slavery and called it a Evil practice. He never fought for the rights to own Slaves that wasn't what the civil war was about. It's was once again about Tax prices. The Yankee government was making them pay more taxes and they used there right and freedoms to fight back. Slavery only became a part of the war at the end because of Abe Lincoln. Please do you're research before you go off. Thank you.
