Stone processing according to its types

In any pile of stone there are always 5 types of stones: face, corner, step, bridge and backing. In this video, we will show you how to disassemble stones by type and make them rough.

When sorting stones by type and processing them, a mason with a stone seems to have a dialogue:
1. The master takes a stone from the heap and examines it from all sides.
A master mason looks at each of the stones and immediately understands what type of stones it belongs to. And therefore: how to process it, what can be made of it, where this stone will lie in the masonry and where it can generally be applied.
2. The master takes a tool for processing stone.
This is usually a long-handled hammer so that you can grip it comfortably with both hands. In some cases, a sledgehammer will also come in handy.
3. The master marks the "skeleton" of the stone.
The bricklayer hits the stone several times to highlight the "skeleton", the base of the stone, to outline its forms. Then he hits a little more lightly, removing unnecessary corners and protrusions so that the side parts of the stone do not protrude beyond the front part. If you hit hard in this case, you can accidentally knock down the excess.
4. The master arranges stones by type.
This greatly simplifies future work. If the master needs to lay the corners, he will take the corner stones, which will all be stacked in one place. If the path - he will take the paving stones. Etc.
