I remember this song from 1993!! I was a junior at The Ohio State University!! There was a club called "Papa Joe's" where you could actually buy a 3 gallon bucket of budwiser beer!! And 10 cents chicken wings !!🍺 🐔 Anyhow, I remember they played the Hell out of this song!! ▶️ 🎶 🎵 I was really into rap heavy back in those days!! 🏋️♂️ But this rock song KICKED ASS!! And stuck with me!! 🪨 🎸 I really didn't realize how awesome the "Stone Temple Pilots" band was, until over 30 year later!!!!!! The The Powerful vocals of the late frontman Scott Weilland, absolutely BLEW ME AWAY!!! ROCK ON!!!! Hey Now! Ohio State University Alumni and huge Stone Temple Pilots Fan!! 🪨 🛕 ✈️ 🥁 🎶 🔋🔌🔥👊 🎸 🎤

This song reminds me of someone very special to me..this happened in the East Village, NYC 🗽…we were 19-20 years old then... The girl I met had a smile that could light up the darkest corners of my soul. Her name was Jennifer, and she possessed an effortless grace that drew me in from the moment our eyes first locked across the crowded karaoke café. It was a chance encounter on a Summer rainy afternoon, yet it felt as if fate had orchestrated our meeting. This song was playing, as I approached her table, I couldn't help but notice the way her eyes sparkled with warmth, reflecting the flickering candlelight. "Mind if I join you?" I asked, trying to mask the nervousness in my voice. She looked up, her gaze meeting mine with a curious twinkle. "Please do," she replied, her voice soft and melodic. Jennifer was a vocal coach, a kind and wandering soul. Her voice was her gift, and she shared it generously, her music touching hearts, stirring emotions. I was immediately drawn to her, captivated by her voice, her spirit, her passion. We talked for hours, lost in conversation as the world outside faded away. We shared stories, dreams for the future, and everything in between. With each word exchanged, I definitely felt a bond forming between us; two strangers brought together by chance. As the day turned into evening, I realized that I never wanted it to end. And it seemed Jennifer felt the same. With a hesitant smile, she reached out and touched my hand, sending a jolt of electricity coursing through me... (I could hear “STP” playing in the background...🎵🎶 “Waiting on a Sunday afternoon For what I've read between the lines Your lies Feelin', like a hand in rusted shame So do you laugh or does it cry Reply?”….🎵🎶 "I feel like l've known you forever," she confessed, her cheeks flushed with color. I couldn't help but smile, feeling the same inexplicable connection that had drawn me to her. "Me too," I admitted, my heart pounding in my chest. With that simple admission, our worlds collided, and in that moment, everything felt better. The rain outside continued to fall, but within the confines of that café, we found shelter in each other's company. Over time, our conversations turned from casual chats into deep, meaningful ones. We talked about our dreams, our fears, our hopes, and our regrets. We had found a kindred spirit in each other, a rare connection that was as unexpected as it was profound. This girl I met was unlike anyone I had encountered before. She didn't storm into my life like a hurricane; she happened like a gentle breeze, leaving me refreshed and captivated from the moment our eyes first locked in the confines of that café. As a man, I had seen my fair share of women, each with their own unique stories and struggles. But there was something about her, something indescribable that drew me in like a moth to a flame. She had an aura of vulnerability about her, yet there was a fierce determination shining in her eyes, as if she had faced the darkest of storms and emerged stronger than ever. I would come to watch as Jenni’s walls slowly crumbled, revealing the fragile heart hidden beneath. And in those moments of vulnerability, I found myself falling deeper and deeper for her. This girl I met, Jenni, isn't just a part of my story anymore. She has become my muse, my inspiration, the very reason I look forward to each new day. Years have passed since that rainy day. The Italian café where we met has become our haven, a testament to the story that began there, and this chill Winter evening as we stand hand in hand, watching the sunrise paint the sky in hues of pink and gold, I know that this girl I met on that rainy Summer afternoon would forever hold the key to my heart…...l still can hear in the background our song play ..."🎶🎵 Leavin' on a southern train Only yesterday you lied Promises of what I seemed to be Only watched the time go by All of these things you've said to me🎵🎶”…🌹

They were slighted by snobby rock music critics from the get go. It seemed there was a faction in the business that much favored the darlings of Alternative Rock namely bands from the Seattle area. They were branded as Pearl Jam as well as Nirvana clones simply because some of their songs sounded a little grungy. Those people that think STP was trying to be a grunge band never listened to their albums. They took the word of some writer from Rolling Stone Magazine that they were posers as Scott was an Eddie Vedder wannabe. Anyone who thinks Scott and Eddie sound alike has a tin ear.

my brother, my dad, n i used to go to the lake n fish for the weekend about once a month. norman rockweller-esque childhood. i'm lucky. it was awesome. the three of us would build a fire at night n listen to classic rock while my dad had a couple beers. one night at the lake around '93ish, the Houston, TX classic rock fm station we loved turned into an alternative rock station around 10pm for the first time and played STP's interstate love song. none of us had ever heard anything like it but when it ended my dad said something like" that was pretty damn good". I’m 50 myself . I remember when I was in the Marines at camp Pendleton when a buddy of mine got me and a few other guys a job as a yellow jacket working at Irvine Meadows . $25 for a night. I don’t know how successful we were at keeping people out but we sure did enjoy us some concerts and STP was one of them -they were awesome.

I am a 56 year old guitarist and came up through 70's and 80's - and a metal holdout during the 90's. I didn't care much for the alternative/grunge of that era, but I enjoyed listening to STP. They wrote great, catchy songs and, to me, had a unique and original sound that distinguished them from the crowd.

This song reminds me of my son and we were listening to this song and my husband thought that it was Hootie and the Blowfish !:I said no thats Stone Temple Pilots and my son started to laugh and said you know Dad Mom us right. We lost him to Cancer in 2020 he was only 32. Now this Band that song and son are such a funny memory for me. Damn i sure do miss you Matty so much. ☺️🙏❤️💙😇💕🎶
