Brand name hearing aids are in the $3,000.00 price range. I would want to compare these to the more expensive brands and get a professional recommendation. Having learned the hard way, hearing is too important to take chances with. If I was paying for them myself, I would consider these. The extra bit of plastic fits in the back of the ear and helps keep the earpiece in place.

Completely agree. Nice thing about an Amazon purchase is the ability to return.

Not realy a thing to test if your hearing is 100% but if hearing impared its a nice way knowing you dont have to go for the expensive hearing aids.
