Michael Myers follows Japanese ghost rules and that's hilarious to me. I was reading a thing a while back about how Japanese ghosts can usually be tricked into going away if you confuse them, like how with the slit-faced woman you have to give a non-answer to her question which leads her to turn around and leave, and it just occurred to me that that's how Busta Rhymes survives that one scene in this movie. Michael's just so confused by the yelling that he just leaves the room and resets

Because Halloween was never meant to be a series. It was a self contained little story of a killer stalking teens. Nightmare on Elm Street you can kinda do more with since Freddy is magical. Friday the 13th continued with Jason. Halloween was meant to be one and done.

One of the things that possibly riles people up about the Rob Zombie Halloween movie is how a good 40-minute chunk of the entire movie is devoted to the direct contradiction of a statement made by John Carpenter about Michael Myers: "the audience should never relate to him". You'd still have a hard time convincing me it's worse than Halloween: Resurrection, which is basically a typical early 2000's slasher film that makes zero attempts to carry the weight and dignity of the Halloween franchise and just tries to do everything everyone else was doing in horror movies at that time.
