소지섭의 두 번째 미니앨범 [6시...운동장] 1월 23일 발매!!
소지섭이라는 이름은 배우라는 타이틀로 한국대중문화계에 빛나는 별이다. 수 많은 드라마와 영화, 때로는 Commercial Film을 통해 국내뿐 아니라 해외에서도 많은 사랑을 받고 있는 그는 2008년 디지털싱글 [고독한 인생] 발표 이후 많은 사람들의 의문과 우려, 혹은 호기심 섞인 기대 속에, 2011년 디지털싱글 [Pick up line], 2012년 첫 번째 미니앨범 [북쪽왕관자리]까지 발표하며 대중들을 비웃기라도 하듯이 지속적인 음악 작업물을 세상에 내놓았다. 그리고 1년여 만에 본 두 번째 미니앨범 [6시...운동장]이 2013년 1월 23일 출시된다.
본 앨범은 지난번 첫 번째 미니앨범[북쪽왕관자리]에서 호흡을 맞춘 작곡가 김건우가 프로듀서를 맡아 대중음악과 매니악한 사운드 사이에서 절묘한 밸런스를 맞춰 냈으며, 전곡을 작곡했다. 작곡가 김건우는 MC몽에게 독특한 감성을, 슈프림팀에게는 대중적 멜로디를 부여한 명민한 프로듀서로서 본 앨범에서는 소지섭만의 감성, 보이스톤, 정서를 최대한 끌어낸 것으로 보여진다. 소지섭의 보컬, 래핑 또한 전작 대비 사운드를 뚫고 나오는 힘이 단단해졌음이 느껴진다. 김건우와 소지섭의 합(合)이 쉬이 볼만한 수준이 아닌 것 같다. 또한 소지섭은 거의 모든 곡의 작사에 참여하여 본인의 감수성과 이야기를 풀어내, 앨범의 정서적 완성도에 방점을 찍었다. 반가운 이름 메이비는 본래의 직업(?)인 작사가로서 참여하였으며 최근 [LUV RECYCLE] 싱글 시리즈를 내고 활발한 활동을 보여주고 있는 소울다이브도 전체적인 랩메이킹과 가사 작업에 참여하였다.
본 앨범에는 총 4곡이 수록되었는데, 4곡은 하나의 이야기로 이어지기도 하고, 각각의 이야기로 생각되어지기도 한다. 가사의 내용과 느낌을 통해 듣는 이들 각각의 상상과 선택에 맡길 따름이다. 첫 번째 트랙인 [소풍]은 소지섭의 낮은 톤의 읊조리는 듯한 랩이 인상적이며 더욱 깊어진 윤하의 목소리가 잔잔하지만 긴 여운을 남긴다. 두 번째 트랙 [지우개]는 보컬계의 재야인사(?)라 할 수 있는 멜로우가 피쳐링에 참여한 곡으로 화려하고 리드미컬한 브라스세션, 폴카 리듬의 뉘앙스를 통해 트로트의 감수성이 느껴지는 독특한 곡으로, 액티브한 보헤미안, 써커스의 이미지가 그려진다. 세 번째 트랙 [눈금자]는 슈퍼스타K4에서 강한 인상을 남긴 남성듀오 테이커스가 보컬 피쳐링 하였으며, 흑인의 감수성을 보태주어, 네오소울적인 연주에 올드스쿨한 구성이랄까? 소지섭의 랩에서 본인의 스타일이라는 가능성이 보였다는 점이 고무적이다. 앨범에서 가장 딥한 느낌을 전해주는 곡이다. 네 번째 트랙 [6시...운동장]은 동명의 앨범 타이틀이자 앨범을 닫는 곡으로서 앞의 3곡의 이야기를 갈무리하는 트랙이다. 예민한 분이라면 첫 번째 트랙 [소풍]인트로와 이어지는 아이들의 목소리로 곡이 끝맺음을 알 수 있다. 아름다운 Fin 이다.
