Nicely done, reaffirms how lucky I am to live a 4 hour drive from there. Nothing gets you closer to nature than a kayak. Through all the seasons from mild to wild, it's all beautiful.

What great memories for your family, Reid. I live in exile in NH, but get back "home" to the Maine Coast several times in the paddling season. The beauty and tranquility of the Maine Coast lives in my bones, as it does yours.

Great video. Very inspiring. Thanks for helping me figure out why I built all of these dang boats and greenland paddles. Cheers.

Amazing video! Thanks for all the info. Planning a trip like that. Do you need reservations for camping on the islands? Is it difficult to get a site?

You don’t need a reservation but you do need an inexpensive membership to the Maine Island Trail Association (MITA.org). The sites are usually open.

Great video. The majority of publicly accessible islands islands between Stonington and Isle au Haut are either state and or land trust owned. These are available for use without membership.
