LEARN HOW TO START SELLING. [More Than a Motivational Video]
If you're scared to sell it's likely because of your own limiting beliefs and you have to learn to overcome fear and close the sale. You have to believe in what you're doing, be authentic, and communicate that to your customers.
You don't have to be a natural at sales. You can learn to sell if you can build the foundation by making a commitment to serve others as best as you can and deliver real value for them.
If you can do that you can start selling your own products or start selling your own services online, and it can make a real difference in your income.

I'm not afraid to put something online to sell. Like for example a print on demand shop. It's the other things i'm worried about like what is the best shop to start with, starting price, at which point would you have to register yourself, tax..i usually don't see anyone talking about this. I live in Europe so there are probably different rules. Also i would like an Etsy shop but i believe you need to have a kvk number at some point if the shop is doing great. Shipping costs to different countries and finding the right companies to make for example enamel pins. I guess it depends on what type of shop you open. But it's things like that which hold me back.
@RobertoBlake
@RobertoBlake 6 жыл бұрын
Europe has different rules, but there is usually something like a small business association or guild or you can look up books that apply to your location that can help you sort through the legal side of things, because that could be tricky otherwise, or directly reach out to someone in the UK already doing it and ask for advice.

Honestly whats holding me back from selling is being an artist, Im not sure if people want to by my art, and setting things up so I can sell and sell effectively to create a passive income and really succeed as an artist. Thats the main thing, I am not sure if I have a product I can sell and people want it or I just lack the confidence in myself to sell. Somewhere in there Im sure of OH, and copyrighting my ish so I can I cover myself and etc.

People are definitely buying art at all sorts of price ranges. The main thing is credibility. When collectors buy, they're not just buying your work bc they like it but also because they want to make an investment. If you stop making art tomorrow, that piece has lost it's market share. For that reason it's a huge risk to buy art from less established artists but it definitely happens. My main advice is to keep your side job while focusing on building a name for yourself, make connections with galleries, and start selling your work at lower prices (500-700$.) You can also consider making drawings instead of paintings or sculptures since they are cheaper to produce, or to make smaller pieces. If you want to make a living selling your work you may have to move, since the galleries that sell large volumes of work are in big cities like New York, LA, and London. You need to be showing up at these galleries on a regular basis if you want opportunities to sell your work. If you want to sell your work online instead of galleries, look into selling prints and really focus on growing your audience. The amount of people who will buy your work, or even show up to openings, is small so you will need a large audience along with a good marketing plan to make enough to cover rent. I would also look into making custom prints. Feel free to email me if you have any more questions. That's the best way to reach me at meninatopaula@gmail.com Hope that helps!

Hello, I’m an art consultant and I work with artists on issues like the ones you’re presenting here. 1. Keep sharing your art with people. Don’t worry about if they want to buy it just keep sharing it and producing it. People gravitate towards the energy they are missing in their life and if you’re producing at a frequency they desire you won’t need to think twice because they will come looking for what you have. 2. Copyright infringement is a real thing and there are ways to safeguard your work online so it can’t be stolen with screenshots etc. 3. Believe in yourself and you’ll go far. Afronovausa is the brand name. Feel free to reach out with questions I’d be happy to help.

Yes.. Thank you for this encouraging word. I am building a food photography business for local food businesses and the overcoming imposter syndrome is real... This video is exactly what I need to hear. What holds me back with selling is feeling like I am bothering someone or being too pushy. Did I email them too much, did I pitch a company too quick, a lot time I worry myself right into a place of in action. I want to do better a growing my business and not distracting myself with fear and worry. Ty again for this reminder.

At the start, Roberto reveals his TRUE identity. SUPERoberto! I do know in terms of PASSIVELY selling my art now, there's nothing stopping me. I'm talking to a professional now to figure out what's getting in the way of client sales and taking on commissions. I programmed myself poorly in my early years which set me up poorly for now, but I'm in the process of re-programming myself now. Especially the last few months I've had subscribers give me a pretty good indication that if I provided products, they'd buy them. And actually, lately the products I want to sell aren't even FOR my subscribers first and foremost. They're for ME. There's pretty limited choice in awesome Dinosaur themed clothing that adults could feel comfortable wearing without looking childish and that's something I want to change. I want something for ME to wear, and I'm sure if I'd wear it, anyone would. The only other thing getting in the way now... is finding where the heck my original artworks and files are stored on my hard drive so I can re-upload them and optimise them for best performance :)

Great video Roberto. Selling things has certainly been a hurdle I have had to overcome. Because I am a minister selling an online course that teaches people how to study the Bible, people already assume that I’m in this for the money. So I have allowed that to slow me down a bit.

Im afraid of criticism in quality & how it's not as "professional" than doing everything myself from a printing company & shipping stuff myself. I was scared to sell my designs and artwork. The beginning of this year I took a leap of faith and started selling my designs. Three years prior to this I slowly, and looking back I wish I had done more, but I slowly built my portfolio by submitting my art pieces to various art shows around the world, for free, knowing I wouldn't make any money on my artwork and that I wouldn't get my pieces back. There's three main reasons I'm not selling (as an artist.) The first one is lack of trust/credibility since you need to establish a name for yourself before you can sell expensive paintings (the ones people really wanna buy.) The second is my sales skills are currently lacking and the final one is that most of the people who are interested in my work don't have an extra couple hundred dollars lying around that they can spend on my work (or at least they're not willing to do it now.) What this meant for me was that I had to go back and get a side job so I can paint on the side while I make a name for myself.

Roberto, first of all i apologize if my english is not on poin, it's not my native language. I want to thank you a lot, you save me. i met you around six months ago, because i was dealing with serious depression and found your vlog on how to overcome depression. Since then i watch a lot of your videos, seen you grow and becoming better in front of the camera. I made my own channel a month ago and thanks to your advice and your message is growing. You are an example and an inspiration for all people who want to start a youtube channel. Thank you! Best hopes
