Dime you really opened my eyes tbh. Before I was a pass first pg that would end games with like 4-6 shots. But this year I switched to SG and that forces me to be more aggressive. And now I see that when you’re aggressive it literally opens up everything else. So I’m not saying pgs should be score first or pass first. But always be aggressive in whatever you choose to do. You have to make it known you’re a threat otherwise you’re not helping your team as much as you think you are.

the truth has been spoken; being a strict pass first PG isn't the wave. Combo guards are at demand in random rec. It's about the awareness of knowing when & how to score, and when to pass. Teammates have to make themselves available in order for the PG to operate, sometimes the best play is to pass, sometimes its to score yourself being a PG.

It’s tough playing PG. Whenever I run it, dudes line up across the top of the 3… 3 players waiting for the inbound. It’s like dribbling thru a mine field.

It just depends on the situation like you said. Some games you’ll have a solid pg and other games they might be incompetent. I believe in feeding whoever has the hot hand. It’s ended up with my irl with 30 in a half. Sometimes he’s hot and other times he’s not. He understands when it’s not his game and the pride aspect is what I think is the problem with the 2K community.

Here’s the one I ran into the past week multiple times. The slashing SG that can’t shoot or look for a shot at all. Goes 7/10 rim running thinks he has a good game but then u combine that with an inside center and more people cutting all game and then the same SG will complain there’s no space on the court coming out here with a SHOOTING guard who can’t shoot

My main issue with rec (especially squad rec) is people want to be "The guy" and do it on their terms. I'll post up my man, purely to draw help because I always baby the other PG and I'll get timed out or screened (why tf would you screen a post up?). I tell guys to cut and they do nothing. If I don't have the ball I'll set an off ball screen but nobody ever takes it. Had a C last night who had 0 shooting. All he did was pick and pop 🤦‍♂️

Exactly. There’s nothing worse than a pg who doesn’t even try to score or get himself space. Now everyone else has to make something work because the pg is playing like he scared. I’m not saying you gotta drop 20-25. Just make it known that you are liable to create your own shot at anytime

But you can’t let that fear of messing up stop you from playing how you know you can play. If you play solo rec then know well very well it be mad people in there messing up and still be on bs. Rec as a point guard needs a therapy session. Your basketball IQ is constantly in question. You’ve got to battle the SG who only came to run point. You’ve got 4 teammates setting screens as you get up the court. A center who doesn’t know how to defend a screen. Blamed for any bad possession. Multiple timeout sabotage. I could go on 😅

Look, if you can go get 40 and do so with some efficiency, you go right on a head. I’m happy to sit here and watch you cook. Problem is 75% are trash bums who go 3-13 and have 5 TO’s at halftime. Meanwhile, you got a 7ft paint beast chillin in the dunkers lane all night with 4 points. I’m not saying I need or even want to take 25 shots, but if I’m wide open in the paint, I do expect the pg to respect the big man. Especially when I have 25 boards and 4-5 blocks.

I agree with most but if someone is 0/3 doesn’t mean that can’t ever hit a shot and if anything that’ll mean they’re most likely gonna be wide open…….why not past them the ball?. Dude could have a lethal zone in the corner and it’s his first wide open look in the corner. That’s bad basketball in a game or real life.

I can't lie earlier this morning I got dropped off by some dude for the first time in my 2k career. And he ain't even do no cheesy stuff. Just had an AI on the team who hit him everytime he got a little bit open. When he had a full 5 he couldn't breathe but he was faster than my 6'8" he was like 6'5" all offense no defense build. I was getting him back when he had to guard me but you know how that goes, because he was scoring on me folks talked trash on my team and we took an L. Sad part is we had smoked like 3 teams in a row together with our great defense. But now I suck cuz one dude with a pure offensive sg, matched up against my 6'8" sf that 2k puts against pfs most of the time, got jiggy I suck. Also yep it's tough finding good centers in random Rec. You don't even have to be good just know how to space the floor. Don't even have to be able to shoot just know how to move off ball. If you can't shoot just be in position after I drive so I can dish to you went your man comes to help. For some odd reason ppl tend to triple and double me even if I haven't scored and I'm always looking to pass. A bucket is a bucket,ma win is a win. I don't care who scores the points as long as we win.

Please address the permaban wave going around, explain how cashout gets banned and becuz off clout and status/connections got a Dev to unban him within the same day! But the rest of us have to wait days to weeks to even hear back from 2ksupport about our ticket. This is neither right nor fair! I’ve been banned since the 16th, and still haven’t even so much been told why or for how long, but I got the “thx for your continued patience” .
