Great topic Amy! I’ve been thinking about this as well since everything is going up in prices. Luxury is a want, not a need. Being mindful of our spending is the right choice in today’s economy. I was surprised with how much basic commodity prices have gone up when i did grocery shopping for the first time in so many years. Brilliant video which speaks to the heart of many who are reeling from rising cost of daily living, myself included. When I last filled my car and the bill came to £115 (USD140 approx) I knew it was time to put everything on hold where luxury shopping was concerned. I couldn’t justify buying anymore ‘lux stuff’ for myself when basic essentials are now 3-4 times the price. My family comes first so I have to prioritise during these challenging times. I’m glad to say since I bought my last Strathberry bag at the beginning of May, I’ve not bought a single thing for myself. The funny thing is, I don’t feel like I’m missing out at all. I feel truly blessed with everything I have and being able to accumulate them over the years. Now it’s time to step back and enjoy them. I’ve stopped browsing on shopping websites - you can’t be tempted by what you don’t see right?! 😆 We’ll all get through this…but most importantly is to stay strong in mind, body and spirit. I’ve seen other opinions saying that luxury wouldn’t be affected as much bc the people that purchase these items can afford to. Some people will be priced out. I’m curious to know if the prices on preloved market will decrease as well 🤔 Not sure what tends to happen during recession, but right now inflation is so high so I wonder if LV will still increase their prices, or if resell markets will lower their prices..

Price from the retail stores will definitely go up because of all cost driven by the gas price. On the other hand, preloved market might have some sales it depends on their stocks. I know Fashionphile has a lot of Chanel bags for sale, just patiently wait for the right one. Thank you for watching.

@@AmyiReport Yes Fashionphile is definitely over stocked! I have a rule if I want a new bag I sell one. The last 2 bags (one Chanel and other LV) tried to sell them they denied stating that they hand too many of the same bags. However I believe they are not selling bags as they are overpricing their bags.

Such a timely video. Truth be told I have lost interest in luxury items because of the ridiculous price increases, long lines, but mostly I have been turned for by the bad customer service. These are issues that have been going on for a couple of years. There is an item I was interested in seeing but I decided not to because I get better customer service from Marshall’s and H and M. Job security….I am ver concerned about and I don’t want to spend on luxury right now. Just too much inflation. I have been focusing on career more and I watch KZbin videos a lot less now.

The higher upper-middle class does not have much monthly credit card consumer debt. Things like gas prices are just an accounting expense for some as well. You are talking about middle-class and down.
