Truth to the matter is, unless you live in a major fashion capital or surrounded by fashion minded people.. the majority of the population won’t know what a Birkin/Kelly really is. I could wear a Birkin to Costco and not a single soul would bat an eyelash.

Once not to long ago I had 2 weeks in hospital a couple of gals said oh you got alot of knock offs...stunned I said what makes you think they are knock offs? Oh my! All good advice thank you! 💕My first designer bag (started in 2020) was a small matte black lady dior. I think she’s really well made and like you said I can wear casually or can be sophisticated. My second was a 2021 cruise collection medium classic flap in the perfect ballerina pink with light gold hardware. I got her from a reseller but paid over retail because of the colour. Was happy to though because it’s not something they always have. I had never been into Hermès, then decided to give it a go in 2022. I’m working on a B30 in a dark neutral that is not black because H has such amazing colours. I’m less than a year into “the journey” but am glad I decided to go into the store and learn about the heritage rather than just buying pre-loved. I learn something new every time I go and definitely agree with you the quality and craftsmanship is so special and I love everything I’ve picked up, which often are based on your recommendations (including an order for the kelly chaine bracelet). I will keep my fingers crossed I can get my quota wish in time, I also like the rock kelly to go you shared in a previous video, but I’m sure impossible to get 😅.

Couldn’t agree more on the classic flap. I was never interested in it and whenever I tried it on, s/th just didn’t feel right. On the contrary, I absolutely love my 2.55s. My first black is over ten years old🎉

Interesting factoid-in Stanley Marcus' marvelous 1979 book, "Quest for the Best", Hermès did not make the final cut on his list of purveyors of the highest quality goods. Valextra was his clear winner. Marcus was the long time CEO of Neiman Marcus. Yep, these days, I've migrated from Hermès back to Valextra. The Iside is low key (but not boring) perfection.

Such a great video on the luxury classics! Definitely agree that you see a lot of Birkins and Kellys on social media and in person in big cities like Paris. I prefer the wear my Lady Dior bags or even Bulgari, I never see someone with the same bag as me.

Nice thoughts. I think the lady Dior in mini size is very small and costs a lot for what you can actually fit in it. The small size is better. The Chanel WOC I still find useful but I bought it pre-loved. The price is way too much at the store. And I just bought a 2.55 cos it’s both classy and casual. Can be used more ways than the classic I feel. Again, much better price point yet as good quality as the classic flap. Cartier love bracelet is a scratch magnet. Can’t imagine seeing all that on such an expensive bracelet. Lastly, in Asia, we can get a Birkin or Kelly easily on the pre-loved market without having to buy Hermes furniture, sushi plates, belts, cushions etc. if you don’t want all that, and they’re genuine, not fake.

If I was to choose (and could afford) a Chanel classic flap it would definitely be red or some other color than black...because, while black can be nice, I've always been one to not want the same thing I see everywhere. And TBH, it's how I feel abuot any brand. Red or teal would go with a lot of what I wear anyhow :) I like bright colors !! As for Hermes, I'm not a fan of the "journey game" they play and honestly would never spend tens of thousands on it if I could.It's just not the prettiest bag. The Lady Dior is cute and I like the J'adore tote....then again I've always been a tote bag girl :)

People have herd mentality trying to fit in… and fall for those pieces every one has. I believe investing on quality items not based on name or popularity is a smarter way to shop. Also I believe investing in more unique items that very few or none would have.

Chanel WOC rocks! I am surprised to use my Chanel WOC as much as I do. It’s so much more useful than I ever imagined and fills a specific purpose in my luxury handbag collection. None of my other mini bags are the dimensions (a clutch/wristlet in 8”x 5” x 2” and under size) to meet the qualifications for entry into a stadium for concerts and ballgames in the U.S. True luxury is the freedom to carry whatever you need wherever you go, and my Chanel WOC is my only mini bag that allows me that privilege.

In my world, with the exception of a few people I know through the Luxury Community, literally no one would know what a Birkin is! They would have heard of Chanel, but not necessarily recognise a Chanel bag. These items are saturated, but only within a certain sphere, the Luxury World, not the normal world. So the saturation would never put me off buying them, being too restricted to affect my enjoyment. Thank you for the video!

Epileather is too heavy for a keep all. The whole advantage of monogram canvas is the hardwearing and light characteristics. I don't know why the latest collections are using leather instead with the Speedy, sure it looks more colourful but once you pack them out...Heavy!!!
