Degrees are IMPORTANT but degrees alone without the relevant skills in today's hyper-evolving world will make you suffer in Canada, USA, Europe or Africa.
An alarming chunk of 90% of college and university graduates in my country remain jobless for up to 10yrs of leak f school. But Why? A real disconnection between what is taught in school and the actual employable skills needed in the world of work. For better context, read this disturbing research piece below:

I have six earned degrees from elite universities and I approve this message. I don't advise anyone going to college unless someone else pays for it. This man is spot on. Teach your children real skills at an early age. The only millionaire from my high school is a guy who went to work as a janitor at a warehouse and ended up convincing the warehouse owner to pay him as an independent contractor to change paper towels, tissue, hand soap and lightbulbs for the warehouse. He formed an LLC, got the contract and then spread to tons of other warehouses. He has over 500 warehouse across the southeast US today. That's how he made his millions. No college degree. This message is so powerful. All parents should be raising their children on this wisdom.

Thank you so much for adding so much sauce to the thread. If the black generation will dominate the future, we must teach our kids differently. I have purposes to achieve this with my kids and will be putting every thing I do for them and with them out for people to see the amazing results. When people, look at my 3yr old daughter, you know what they say? "She is smart for her age". What they don't see is the effort of parents behind the scene to set her up right. Not many teachers paid meagre salaries in in public schools will go that extra mile to invest their best energies and creativities to turn our kid's lives around extraordinarily for us.

I have no college degrees. I am 66 years, one month and 24 days as of my comments. The best degree I have is GOD. God will make ways according to his will and ways. Have you ever heard about Theodicy before? It’s called the problem of evil and suffering. You believe their is god who is omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent, ever loving but can’t stop evil and suffering in the world? There are millions of children out there suffering from cancer, malaria, food poverty and different kinds of diseases but this god never fails? Many countries suffer radical wars, genocide, earthquakes, floods and this god just sits and watch? Instead of creating societies where humanity and love should thrive, all we do is attribute self gratitude to a sky daddy whom people of faith believe created this crazy world. You can do better!

I'm reach than those nurses who came and they're still chasing those masters degrees, with student loan,,,!! ( in a polite way) I wish people could humble themselves " academically " and FOCUS! I'm putting up nice nice studio, 1&2 bdrms in Kenya! The moment I'm done,( we are doing tiling and each unit has 8 apartments in a floor! I. Gonna make $ 11k every month from.my apartments, and then I will join really estate because so far I have 31 acres of land within Nairobi Kenya! Yes I came to America with $0 in my account! I'm 36! Hey! Is there anyway to get in contact with you (instagram, linkedin etc...)? I wanted to start a nursing home in my country in the Caribbean and get some advice to obtaining some practical training in caregiving in the USA. My dad is a US citizen but came back here about 5 years ago. He was a medical doctor in the USA but is retired now. I was thinking of moving to the USA for a couple of months given the demand plus I need some practical hours for my healthcare certificate. My original background is management though - academically and some computer science . I kind of do both on the side.

My mother try whatever she can to put me through school, I'm a very brilliant student in all aspect of education, but one thing my mother did that I'm forever grateful is sending me to learn automechanic after high school. I thought she was worrying me considering my gentleness and all that , but when I realized what she was doing and the future of the automotive industry I channeled all my energy and intelligence into that industry. As at now I'm in level 300 in the university of Ghana reading Geography and Philosophy, but I've looked for a shop in my area and I'm still practicing automechanics, and to be frank, I see a future with the auto mechanic more than university regardless of my 3.72 GPA, most of my friends jealous me for the skills I possess. University only give you exposure and connections, but skills will take you places. I can survive anywhere regardless.

My advice is to diversify your portfolio; a degree is always helpful (choose an in demand one), get a trade certificate if time permits, start a business, invest (in what seems profitable), save as much as possible, buy assets (real estate etc. ) the list goes on and on but its simple. Your message just gave me goosebumps. When I see my peers or juniors or senior fellow blacks come to the rude awakening of the fierce urgency of NOW, when I see them care less about how much time has passed them or what they haven't achieved yet, when I see people begin to face and slay the legions of fear inside of them; when I see our people begin to believe in themselves all over again with an unstoppable, child-like gut, when I see our people begin to focus on what positive, growth -driven actions they can take NOW, it feels truly magical. I recommend you follow Jay Kwashie on Facebook. He is a Ghanaian tech expert based in Canada. He had gone through many countries including Netherlands, UK, and USA before moving over to Canada. The man said "he feels empty within" yet you are urging him on to finish his studies. Wow. Do you really think this video is against formal education? This video has NEVER been against formal education. This video is rather advocating for people to pick relevant education that aligns with: 1. Their calling, talents, passion, skills set, etc 2. And are Relevant for the time we live in If your PHD or double masters or bachelors degrees makes you fulfilled today, bro, then I am super happy for you. I just want the black race to be happy. I agree with the brother that our kids need to learn how to use their hands. I also advise Africans to think long and hard before rushing to these EU countries, not because you will suffer, but because in 10 years time, everyone will be crying in these countries once AI really takes over. There is no skill you can get right now that can guarantee you a job in these countries. The key is to go backwards, stay in your countries, find a piece of land and homestead. You don't need to compromise yourself to enter this beast system, instead invest your time in your children, your community and family. Teach them how to grow food, how to build homes, carpentry, herding cattle, farming, herbalists & fill your home up with tools that can help you change the life in front of you, not conform to the system. The government will never give you what you need but if you can provide any of the things I mentioned then you are set for life as money is going to be no use so you will need to barter with what you can provide! Very powerful message brother!

I am a 20 year old guy in a west African country called “The Gambia”. And all you have said so far in this half an hour video has made me build more trust in myself and feel like I am not actually mad at all. I am a second year medical student in the university of The Gambia. But, I am currently not attending any lectures because I decided to take a gap year (some may call it) to actually think about what the future is truly about. My grades in medical school are actually great but I was feeling like I am not happy here because I was teaching myself how to code and some business skills at the time. As a matter of fact, I and my coding skills got along quite well and I now own a small business (partially online) that is making me a pure profit of D900 to D1500 per day. I now make most people’s monthly salary in just one week because I started to look around for opportunities and grabbed them. I ask myself a lot of questions and I am usually perplexed by how much I do have answers to my questions so easily after brainstorming. My story about when I started asking real life questions which my lectures have no answer to, made me do more research about money and the systems running in the world. I am rushing through my story to make it easier for the one reading through this to get a tip of my story. All this took me only 2 years of actual thinking. This is why most of my age mates and most Gambians complain about how hard the country is but I still thrive through it with the help of Allah. Thank you so much for this video. I am ready to still continue to be strong on my skills and act of reasonings. ❤ Peace ✌️!!!!

A bachelor's degree is still a good idea BUT you should only do it if you must for the career you want and if you get a scholarship. If you cant get a scholarship, then go to community college where its cheaper, get a 2 yr degree and then get certificates for the career you want. 4 year bachelors degree is so expensive that i wouldnt pay for it anymore and student loans take forever to pay off. Of course if your family has money and can pay for your degree, then yea go get one.
