Wow. This. My partner has been struggling with frozen shoulder, and after doing my own research I suspected it to be nervous system hypervigilance just like insomnia and tinnitus (and I suspect many other conditions). I told him whenever he feels muscle tension or pain to stop and relax as much as possible (but don't TRY too hard because that just tells your system there is something wrong) and send his brain the signal that this is safe and everything is okay. I know it can take the system a long time and a lot of repetition to release the fear, but I'm confident we'll get there.

He's absolute right! I have a frozen shoulder wich lasts four years now. Any exercises made it worse. A frozen shoulder needs to rest. Since last December 2023 I'm in the thawing phase and my shoulder doesn't hurt anymore. There is still stiffness but it's getting better, although very slow. You just have to wait! It maybe takes several years but it will recover eventually! Don't try to force the movement!

The late great Dr. John Sarno who was the leader of Tension Myoneural Syndrome (psychosomatic induced pain) or unexplained pain phenomena went over this. Once one understands the unconscious underlying psychological stress (fear, anger, rage, etc.) the condition subsides, whether back pain, fibromyalgia, frozen shoulder etc.)

A very inspired way to look at this condition. I wonder what would happen if we looked at a lot of other issues the same way, as not something to fear, but to bring safety to our bodies.

You are 100% correct. Every inflammation in the body is due to the immune system reacting and our thoughts DIRECTLY influence the immuen system!

Hello from Oregon, I will have say I think I agree. The stretches and pulls only hurt my shoulder and may have caused it to become worse. Now I just try to get good rest, do a simple lift or stretch to get the blood flowing and icing it. I just want to get back out on the golf course pain free. Thank you for the video .

I had frozen shoulder years ago. It healed on its own. I didn't do anything about it. It took a year. Now I have rotator cuff tear and developed frozen shoulder again. What shall I do?

I have a question, what if an injury (i.e. anterior shoulder dislocation) caused the frozen shoulder? Like stopping the shoulder immobilization and stopping to wear the arm sling for the shoulder so you can move it 6 weeks? Is it still an auto immune thing? Thank you in advance for answering. Have a good day sir.

In my opinion, yes it is still an autoimmune reaction. Frozen shoulder is an unreasonable response to an injury that should otherwise heal where full ROM should return once the acure phase of the injury is resolved.
