Hi Jackie. I’m an Indian girl who has darker skin, and I’ve been receiving comments about it my whole life. Given the rampant colourism within the community, I was always really insecure about my hyperpigmentation and especially my two-tone lips. Hi Jackie, I'm filipino and I've been watching your videos for a long time now. No one taught me to accentuate my brown skin better than you did. There's also a heavy colorism problem in the Philippines, and us brown skin girls have always been told to whiten our skin, straighten our hair, bla bla. Basically telling us not be ourselves and conform to the white-skinned, long haired Asian look. When I was 10, I also wanted to have a lip surgery to cut my lips slimmer so I won't have the two-toned "big lips" that they always told me is ugly. When I started watching your videos, I learned how to accentuate my natural feautures and to love my brown skin! I hope you see this message because literally without you, I wouldn't have anyone who told me I'm beautiful just the way I am. Love you, and always take care! xx

Something that happens everytime is people going there to do an occurrence and describes a black people like “oh so the robber was like...you know...a little brunette...”. Other sad thing is sometimes depending of the occurrence officers have to put your ethnicity in the papers and when they ask black people how they identify they often answer “I’m white”.

@Your thoughts Not mine Race is a construct of north western european men hundreds of years back. Race doesnt exist. Ethnicity, culture and geographical areas do, although country borders arr mostly also created by those same pale men, so they don't exist either (lilke literally with a ruler and pencil during the1836 Berlin conference regarding Afrikan borders). For example Afrikan, South American and Asian people have skin tones rangimg from the lightest imaginable to the richest darkest imaginable, with hair the same and hair texture from stick straight to the tightest curl. So within so called people of color every imaginable skin and hair tone and texture exists, and in every conceivable combination. The same with eye colours. Besides all that when people say other people looked mixed race they most often mean so called POC mixed with white. Thats just one combination of mixing. Yall know so called POC also mix, and that is also mixed, not only white mixed with so called POC is a mixed baby. Yall keep placing white as the centre of standards. Its bullshit. White is the minority. Yes theyre a minority who created most chaos, but they remain a minority. Lastly aint noooobody can tell on aaanybody what mix or no mix they are.

I’m also a licensed cosmetologist and white AF (99.8% European according to the 23 and me DNA test). I’m obsessed with the techniques that enhance the natural beauty of women of color. There’s such a stigma in the beauty industry against people who aren’t white and it’s almost deemed “bad” to enhance what women of color are born with. SCREW 👏🏻 THAT. 👏🏻 Everyone has inner and outer beauty in different ways and instead of dragging people to filth over what one individual person (or a group of people) finds beautiful, why not empower people to reflect their personality on the inside through their looks on the outside? I will never understand why people have to get their panties in a wad over somebody else’s personal style choices.
@09kenedy4 жыл бұрын
Katie's Corner yet here you are bunched up panties and all ranting in the same manner you’re complaining about lol. Side note, too often the attempt to “enhance” black women’s beauty usually ends up in a fail because the European standard of beauty is used as a guide. With the lack of knowledge you posses, please stick to enhancing non black women before you f them up and then say it’s cute 🙄.
@katiescorner58794 жыл бұрын
A Gold “The lack of knowledge I possess?” So just because I’m white, that means I can’t take classes to understand how a black woman’s hair should be cared for and further develop my knowledge on what tones and colors to use on women of color in terms of makeup? 😂😂😂
@09kenedy4 жыл бұрын
Katie's Corner who said anything about you being white? Freudian slip on your part I guess. The point I made about how the goal of the treatment was to have an esthetic appearance which is closer to the European features and standard of beauty missed you though? That’s the ignorance I’m referring to. Continue with your color wheel chart and your classes, but if you want to actually excel at treating black women ( not WOC) open up you brain and expand your thinking. You would think watching Jackie’s channel would have already given you a head start 🤷🏽♀️.
