1) A robe is a very convenient thing to wear at home. It is usually associated with warm, cozy terry cloth. But it’s also very necessary in the summer; it’s not always the time to wear shorts and a T-shirt.
A wrap-around kimono robe would be comfortable. No need to fasten buttons or zippers. In the warm season, after a bath or shower, it will be just right, throw it on quickly, it’s comfortable and not hot, it will also help after sleep. You should definitely take these clothes to the sea.
Kimono is an oversized robe. Using a belt, the size is reduced or increased.
This style is the same for both women and men. The length can be any long or short. The feature of the product is the amazing Japanese style, there is something special and mysterious about it. Despite the simple cut, the robe looks elegant.
For work you will need any light cotton material. It dries quickly and absorbs moisture well. I took a sheet that we don’t use and finally found a use for it.
It is easy to sew such a thing, as it is simple and quick to process. This style can be adjusted to any shape and size. The pattern is based on rectangles. There are no darts and this greatly simplifies the task for those who are taking up sewing for the first time. The drawing is done directly on the canvas.
You don't need to sew the shoulder seams, just fold the fabric and make it without seams.
It is better to make the sleeves shorter, mine are 20 cm.
Stages of work:
- I attached the sleeves to the shelves, and swept the seams.
- I made stitches along the side seams and sleeves.
- To treat the smell, I took calico of a different color. I cut strips on the bias, 10 cm wide, joined them together, folded them in half, ironed them and stitched them to the robe.
- I swept the cuts. I made a straight stitch on the front side. I finished the edges of the sleeves this way.
- Hemmed the bottom of the product.
- For the belt, I cut out a strip 10 cm wide, folded it in half, stitched it and turned it inside out.
If the fabric allows, you can immediately make a one-piece pattern, that is, the front and sleeves are cut without seams.
Ready!
I think everyone should have a robe like this.
2) Today I came up with a good idea to sew napkins for the table from a white sheet. Even if it has already served its purpose, you can easily update it. Whiten, blue and starch the cut pieces. And after ironing, the fabric becomes dense, of very pleasant quality.
If you treat it with bias tape of a different color, you will get elegant napkins for the festive table.
Today I sewed a couple of napkins for myself. Then I will make a complete set of 6 pieces.
First napkin:
- I cut out a square, folded the edges on four sides by 1 cm.
- I marked 3 cm at the corners and cut off triangles of fabric.
- I stitched each corner in this way, stitching to the fold.
- I turned it inside out, and this is what happened.
- Before making the finishing stitch, I took strips of lace and inserted them on 4 sides. I found a small piece of stitching and inserted it, thereby creating a pocket. You can put a spoon or paper napkin there.
Second napkin:
I made it in vintage style.
- I cut out a rectangle and folded it in half, the napkin will be double.
- I tore off two strips with my hands, removed the hanging threads and collected them like a ruffle.
- I inserted it inside the napkin and stitched it. I turned it inside out and made a finishing stitch on 4 sides.
- Decorated with roses from torn strips of fabric. I twisted each strip like a tourniquet and then wrapped it in a circle. I sewed them together.
These napkins look romantic and are perfect for setting a holiday table!
3) I would like to invite you to look at two ideas for home textiles made from white bed linen. I got delicate pillowcases 40x40 cm.
- I cut out the fabric as for an ordinary pillowcase. For decoration, I tore the fabric into two strips; it is the torn edges that are needed. The length of each is 90 cm, width 8 cm. I sewed two parallel lines on one edge. She pulled the threads and gathered them into small folds.
- It is important to pull the threads carefully so that they do not break, otherwise you will have to do everything again.
- I sewed a piece of lace onto the pillowcase. Then I sewed on these two flounces.
- Small rose decoration. For her, I prepared a strip with frayed edges, 4 cm wide, twisted it in one direction and gathered it into a circle, the result was a flower.
- I finished the pillow, as usual.
- For the second pillowcase I prepared pieces of stitching and lace. I cut white calico into 12x12 cm squares. I sewed some small openwork parts together to make a square. A total of 16 squares of fabric were needed.
- I sewed them together in patchwork style. That's how it happened.
- I cut out the second part of the pillow and sewed it all together.
These pillowcases have a special chic. create additional comfort and definitely will not go unnoticed. They are especially suitable for romantic people.
All the best!
