Hello! I'm a Strange Man.
The giants played bowling here! Stop it Kazakhstan! #aktau #kazakhstan
Stop it Kazakhstan! Valley of Balls. #aktau #kazakhstan
My friends and I and you and I went to see the Valley of Balls not far from Aktau, in Mangistau on the shores of the Caspian Sea in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The Valley of Balls is a very interesting and unusual place!

Stop it Kazakhstan! The gods were bowling here! #aktau #kazakhstan
The place where the gods played bowling. The mysterious Torysh tract.
The unusual valley of balls, which is located in the Torysh tract, is considered one of the most mysterious places in the Mangistau region.
The valley of Torysh balls is located between the Karatau ridge and the ledges of Northern and Southern Aktau. This area is strewn with huge stone spheres, scientists call them nodules.
For many years they have been trying to unravel the nature of the phenomenon, puzzling over the reasons for the appearance of unusual balls of regular shape, which over time begin to crumble, like an onion shedding layer after layer. They were formed approximately 180 - 120 million years ago during the geological era of the Mesozoic. Asima Koshim, professor at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, explains that in science there are two main versions of the origin of the balls: according to the first, they were formed as a result of an earthquake in a tectonic fault zone. Due to the displacement of the plates, the rocks were subjected to discharges, melted and turned into a lump. This hypothesis is confirmed by the fact that in the center of the stones there is a grain, which over time has rolled sand and clay onto itself.
According to the second version, the balls were formed more than 120 million years ago. Then in this place there was the Tethys Ocean with a huge accumulation of plankton. It was these organisms that became the basis for spherical nodules, the size of which increased over time. Over the years, the water began to recede, and the petrified balls remained on dry land. It is still difficult to say which version is true. Local residents call this place Koi-Tas, or “stone sheep,” which, like a herd, scattered across the steppe. However, the word “torysh” itself is translated as “water depression.” It is the name of the area that can shed light on the secret of the formation of balls. From Latin, such a ball of concretion is translated as “thickening”, “contraction”, when sedimentary rock, sand, silt, etc. grows on the so-called grain. It seems that this area was once covered with water long ago, when sediments built up around the core (often ammonites, prehistoric mollusks more than a meter in size, minerals, plant remains, teeth or fish bones).
And local residents tell their version of the occurrence of this unusual phenomenon. According to legend, the brave warrior Ersary-Baba (according to another legend, the overseas giant Atlant) fired from a cannon, and stone-balls flew in different directions. After which this valley was formed. According to legends, these unusual stones are endowed with special sacred power and filled with energy.
It’s not for nothing that Torysh is called the Valley of Balls: in the tract there is a scattering of spherical mineral formations - nodules
Local residents have another legend about huge stone spheres. The balls are enemies turned to stone by the prayers of the local population, asking their ancestors for protection.
The history of the emergence of bizarre spherical cobblestones in the Mangystau region is a legendary story about hordes of enemies who turned into large round stones thanks to popular prayer. Scientists still have not agreed on the origin of the long-standing mystery of Mangistau. Each stone is unique and has its own special shape, creating a grandiose landscape, giving a sea of emotions and vivid impressions from the natural wonder seen.
Watch until the end, like it! Subscribe and comment! So what do you want? Is it a pity?
Yours sincerely

As a child, I really liked to sleep in the car rather than in the house. Now it turns out it was car camping! Such a vanlife! I live in my car quite professionally. In Western countries, a special term was coined during the night in the car and in Vanlife - boondocking. It means a VanLife night in a car in a random place not intended for overnight stays in a car with a completely absent VanLife infrastructure in this place. For some reason, in our country another definition of vanlife is more common - carcamping, that is, a narrower phenomenon. People on the way somewhere spend the night in a car somewhere in the middle of the forest.
