I just don’t understand why all teams don’t focus on Doom after a team gets him at the island. We were attacking Doom only to have another team kill us only to get killed by Doom right after. If you don’t get Doom you should be focusing on him until he’s destroyed then go back to getting other teams!

Now as a casual PC gamer dad, I must say, I have played as Doom twice, and it's super OP, but fun! It won't last forever, but a few weeks. My 3rd time I captured the island. I let my 10 year old son take over and tear the 15 remaining people appart. It was pure joy to watch him play 100% aggressively, laughing histarically as he beamed player after player lol. It was one of those gaming moments my son and I will have the rest of our lives.

Fortnite should do this every 20th lobby just pick a random player to be the instant winner. That way I don’t have to waste 20 minutes to come in second to Dr. Doom and it would be just as fair.

I agree with him when he says get the medallions and eliminate some of the good players early. But he left out as soon as I get a medallion I’m hunted the entire game because I’m on the map. I just don’t go for them because of this. I like a more chill game

Thanks. I have gotten so close to getting the Dr. Doom Armor 7 times... Yet my friends obtained it and won the game. The only time I did get it, I got shot right on the spot by a trio of spammers. The entire universe is against me.

I was actually having a lot of fun with this season before the recent updates with jet pack “balancing” and doom island. The game felt balanced, fast, and fun. But yet again this doesn’t last for long. Pretty much every game I play now, I have a massive struggle finding a jet pack and the one time I’ll find one, the doom island spawns on the other side of the map and my game is toasted.

Last match Doom Island was a warzone, I stole all the medallions during the chaos and ran away. But after the storm took over the island, nobody claimed it. So I ran into the storm, claimed the island and became Dr Doom. It was nice and it was extremely easy to win after that. Even with my health cut to half from spawning in the storm. The thing with Doom, is I think he's just way too powerful and spawns way too late in the game. By the time I was doom, there were only 4 players left and in other matches there were only 10 players left by the time someone got Doom.

The decreased spawn rate of Jetpack has made my matches feel so much slower. By the time I get a loadout, I'll see there's like 52 people left and I haven't gotten a single kill. My mobility is slow and it feels like a dead match until End Game. Still haven't seen Isle of Doom in game yet but I know it will be some cheesy gimmick and I may as well surrender at that point.

Don't want to edit my comment but I finally had Doom Island spawn. I spectated who managed to get it and somehow the match got dragged out another 8 to 10 minutes. Almost witnessed Doom get eliminated, they also had him. Only getting 2, maybe 3 kills as Doom. It was the hardest thing to watch. Had him sub 150 health with a cracked shield at one point. Rooting for the other players because they almost had it handed to them. I'll probably upload the match later on. From what I saw, the movement looks so clunky and don't see the appeal of using it unless you are trying to keep others from having it.

If you play builds: Get armored walls and box urself with them on the island. When players try to break in you can just kill them very easy

actually storm damage is based on percentage so doom actually takes 5x damage from storm, some people i know learned the hard way when they were taking 25 damage from taking too long to capture the island

Island spawned edge of storm yesterday. By the time I’d won fights and claimed it, I was 4-500m in storm. Took so much storm before I got out, I lost a tonne of health. Then wasn’t much players left to get syphon from. Ended up dying to someone beaming me from distance and lost. Glad someone else experience it and I wasn’t going nuts.

One day it’ll spawn when I’m not the other side of the map and then I might have a chance to be first on the island. I think that plays a big part in the success of taking island. Made 2 epic Doom wins out of 3 Doom island spawns by now. Had the doom- and the stealthmedallion, autoturret and jetpack shotty combo equiped both times, which made it easy to take out the sweats and crown dudes. Once you got the doom mythic, it is impossible to lose. I´d rather want the sniper rifles getting unvaulted again though, instead of this doom mythic insanity.

I love doom island, gives us something to shoot for I. The victory von doom. I am curious what would happen if it spawned in earlier and took less time to charge up. Giving a team/player more potential target / giving the rest of the lobby a better chance of overwhelming doom. As Sargent Johnson once said “Dooms tough but he ain’t invincible! Stick with the Master Chief he’ll know what to do.”

I played about 20 matches yesterday, and Doom Island came up 6 times, although one time no one did the deed and became Doom. I won that match. I got murdalized by Doom all the other times. EMPs did work pretty well on Doom, but I just didn't have enough of them and couldn't hit him enough to make it count. Ouch.

Claws, jet pack, and berries are going to have you move a lot easier. Doom Bots medallion is my first one I hunt, and eliminate Frost's medallion holder and leave it in the storm in case you are in top 15 when DI drops

I managed to claim doom island for the first time yesterday, eliminated like 5-6 people up there, was crazy and then came 2nd 😂 was gutted but what I found was because id never used them before, the doom abilities fealt strange to use and also it made me over confident because you have so much health so I made a stupid play at the end pushing too hard and got beamed by a good player but I got a few elims before then with it and it was fun to use🙂

My son got Doom island earlier, there was around 10 people left in the lobby. Another match, we went for Doom Island, someone claimed the island, but nobody got Doom. My son said a knocked player got him, but then got killed and nobody was able to become Doom.

So the Island has spawned 3 times with me. And I've taken it twice then handed the 3rd to my duo. ( Who somehow died ) * Facepalm* The island is a total rumble so 3rd party Shenanigans is the key. Doom himself is waaaay overpowered. I had 9 kills before the island and ended it with 32. Which is the highest I've ever had. Felt sorry for the guy at the end creeping out the bush with his captain America shield.

Highest kill ive ever had was in a squad game mode, back in chapter 4. We ended the game with like 40ish kills between us, it was a great time. Any time we'd hear gunshots we'd run over and 3rd party.

First time doom island spawn I fought an intense fight of chain third parties of 8 people ( only had the scan medallion which helped ) fighting though the last two ran away and I won the match. But first time I’ve had to fight that many people at once that wasn’t a normal third party and it really was intense.

What annoyes me is that I've had terrible rng when it comes to good rarity and the jetpack. And then of course the one game i get a good sovereign and a purple striker ar i got doom island spawn. So of course i have to go contest it or I'll probably die. And then i die on island

I love the Isle of Doom but the cap should be 15% or 20% It should be a relatively rare thing so it remains fun. If it gets to 100% it just becomes boring and repetitive, making it less fun for everyone.

Question please - once the medallion has been taken from the character, how do u see where it is on the map once someone else has it?

The holder of each medallion has a gold circle around them on the map, but you don't know which is which (you could guess from the vicinity to the source of each though, depending on timing). The circle gets smaller the more medalions held by 1 player. so if one player has all , they're virtually pinpointed on the map.

i was in a car and rifted up there with it, ended up just doing circles in the vicinity of the circle, ended up getting it as well the car is what helped me avoid getting shot at. you’re welcome

Personally hate doom island. First time it spawned for me I was unaware of its existence and ended up in a 1v1 against doom in the final two. Had no idea what was going on, no idea why the player wasn’t dying even though I was doing a good job parrying his attacks with jet pack and managed to crack the 500 shield and a few hundred more HP. Clearly wasn’t a super skilled player and only won because they had 1050 health and wore me down because my jet pack only had so much fuel. If it was a normal player I would have killed them three times over. What I hate most about it is it basically makes a match with no player choice. You HAVE to contest the island. If you don’t, you are throwing the game. In a normal match it is totally feasible to ignore island if you feel confident in your loadout and position, or if you fee you have already eliminated enough skilled opponents. Now a player far below your skill level can steamroll you if they take island so there is no player choice about what route to take when island spawns. Edit: in conclusion, I will only be playing duos with my son until the doom thing is over. I can get better solo gaming enjoyment doing almost anything else until then.

You should let people take it and then fight them for the ultimate challenge. I reckon you'd win at least 50% of fights against him. Kinda a byist opinion their jake. In solos people cant respawn. In other modes they can. Again its kinda hard for a whole squad to be carring jet packs an claws. Thats 8 finds before the island spawns. . . . Think he should only speak for solo players. Not regularly playing sqauds like he does. He shouldnt be the voice squad players listen too. Nor should he be giving squad advice on the regular. Its a different mindset an playing field in general. He should stick to what he knows.
