The feeling of keeping that right hand on TOP of the grip works wonders too. It's essentially the same thing as setting the left wrist.

Well, the Faldo drill was pre ulnar deviation. If you arch your left hand out the ball; and, then place your right hand on the club from under the shaft, the extensors in your left hand will extend, in your backswing. Helps if you grip the club lightly and raise your position to look up at the target. Ulnar deviation and extensor extension go hand in hand. And, the hand arm should work as one unit with lower left part of the neck

It's nice to see this guy talk about the cue of flexing the forearm. That's my feel for this because it is closer to how you'd use these muscles in most sports instead of worrying about the minutae of angles. also should help you feel the correct movement more than passively putiing your hand in a position.

Great video guys! So how long should we maintain that flexed feeling when completing the down swing?

Hello! Did you happen to find out? I’d like to know also, thank you!

@chezchezchezchez Nope 😐

You don’t “maintain” it by flexing and holding. How much do you hold your wrist back when throwing a ball? It needs to sequence automatically and it will if the face is square early. Take away the incentive to throw early to square the face, that’s what this is doing.

Question. When Ryan was demonstrating a flat wrist the Hack Motion showing -12’ of wrist flexion Is that flat? Why not 0’? Was the Hack Motion calibrated correctly?

I have hack motion and don’t get it at all. Never use it as it’s so confusing

What about a strong grip?
@blueeyes6192Ай бұрын
Strong grip will cause the ball to go too left . Unless you are flexible enough to offset by opening your hips more or manipulate the wrist less shut.
@willtaylor8512Ай бұрын
@blueeyes6192 so this technique only works with a neutral grip?
@blueeyes6192Ай бұрын
@@willtaylor8512 The problem with youtube golf videos is there is no silver bullet. You need to experiment with things learn and find your own swing . Everyone is different and there are a many variables which affect a swing . I use a strong grip.

Check out Shawn Clement PGA pro teacher he advocates a strong grip and explains why it works better for powerful shots.

Interesting video. What I don’t understand though is why not rely on your hands to know where the club face is in space? The feel of the club in your hand is a much better proxy than wrist angles.

No wonder people suck at golf. An amateur with limited time to practice worrying about this? LOL. No chance. As Tiger said. Stop watching KZbin videos and go hit balls. And quite simply, find a good coach. You're not finding serious solutions watching a KZbin video because 99% of golfers are not even capable of knowing what is wrong with their swing and what actually would help them be better in the long run.

Very similar to Mac Ogrady which I think nick got from him early on,in his success with David LEADBETTER

That's funny of course the swing is easy when you get the right teacher. He acts like he came out the womb with a perfect swing lol.

The only people making the game complicated are golf coaches who are frying people's brains with way to much information. YOU TUBE INSTRUCTION IS A DISASTER FOR YOUR GOLF GAME.
