A lot of shark vtubers that aren't g..a tend to look nothing like a shark. Lord of sharks, in my opinion, would look shark like. Blue shark, lemon shark, goblin shark, great white shark, etc. They just look like anime girl. No gills, fins , tails,sharp teeth, or anything. The purple lady looks more like a leader of a naval fleet than a lord of the sharks.

This is anathema to how conversation works, you will have little luck with this on a business model built on parasocial relationships.

@@hexidecimark not sure how that follows. If anything, establishing a relationship involves the community being focused on the streamer. If the conversation is focused on someone else, though, it is a distraction from the streamer themselves. Even if the conversation is "oh this streamer is better than (other streamer) it doesn't do much improve relations as it does add negative feelings to other streamers. And, oddly enough, emotions work in an absolute value in regards to attention. That is, a person who feels bad to someone will give as much attention to them as another who feels good about the same person. Thus making your community dislike a streamer will just get them to go TO that streamer to rag or harass them rather than focusing on your stream and your community. That doesn't get into possible drama issues when the communities colide making you look horrible to everyone else. That doesn't even get to the concept that you are discussing things on someone's channel that they aren't talking about which, by design, means you aren't paying attention to them. And that's the best use of talking about others without the streamer guiding the discussion. It goes downhill from here. Basically no, there is no good in letting your community talk about others if the actual conversation you are leading isn't about them. (Also a good reason not to bring up streamers in a negative way in your own streams)

In your brain, this is stored as a real relationship, even though it's not. There's a little more to parasocials, but I think that's a fair summary. The conventional business model used by virtually all streamers uses this effect to generate money in exchange for the service of the client feeling like they are in a real relationship. The client then feels as though they owe the streamer something and "reciprocate" with money; it's similar to free samples. Because the business model is exploiting a flaw in the human mind, I personally think it's unreasonable to expect people will act differently than they would in situations where the mind is working as intended, in the same state.

also iirc, at one point some antis tried to stir up some drama between vtubers by pretending to be toxic fans of a certain vtuber and start invading other vtuber streams to make the certain vtuber look bad. edit: forgot to mention if i actually remember that right so take this with a grain of salt unless someone confirmed that this is true.
