I just bought a metal pallet and tried a white eraser because I had one right beside me and you mentioned it. It worked great! I rubbed it with the eraser for just a couple of seconds and it is a dramatic difference. It worked great.

Try glue stick or Vim. They both work very well, metal and plastic.

I suggest using Rubbing Compound. Typically sold to polish paint, it has better grit to break the surface of the baked enamel which all tins are baked with. It's amazing.!!!

Do we need to apply it everytime we use our pallets if we clean it with water after use?
@bhelranistudio46816 жыл бұрын
You only need to apply it once and the effect will last forever - in fact, you will find over time that it gets better and better just from use.

Thank you for this. I scrubbed my pallets down. This has saved my paints. Bless you!

Do you think granulated toothpaste would have a faster/better effect on the metal?
@bhelranistudio46816 жыл бұрын
It might, but I would be worried if it's too rough, it might chip/remove some of the paint.
@KarijnsWatercolors6 жыл бұрын
That's a valid point, might have to experiment a bit with my own palettes.

does this work for plastic?'
@bhelranistudio46815 жыл бұрын
Elijah Horton I tried it on my plastic palette - it worked but not as well, I think you need to scrub a bit longer than the metal ones

question --- I just bought myself a metal palette, I hated the plastic one that I got because of beading and also because it was bulky. When I sprayed the pans, the paint would drip below the pans, I wanted to know if there's a way to prevent that from happening on the metal parts where the pans clip in. Thank you.
@bhelranistudio46815 жыл бұрын
D W unfortunately I think (but could be wrong) , it could be because the angle of the metal part isn’t exactly level ? If so, gravity will cause it to drip. Luckily mine is level but I’m not sure how to adjust that

You can also use stick glue and clean it with a paper towel.

this works.. but if you are the type that likes to clean your palette after use.... it doesnt last long
