Hi great video, I have followed your advice on steps 1 and 4 but I can’t find Tap to Wake under Accessibility > touch. I’m running iPadOS 16.1.1. I can see it on my iPhone but not the ipad

Never charge your ipad to 100% about 95% is fine , and never let you battery get below 20/25%

Thanks for these tips. The power drain is even worse on my 10.5 inch M2 Pro iPad Pro. My guess is that the smaller form factor reduces the space available for the battery. My iPad is down to 30% by lunch time, something that never happened with my old pro. I typically need to recharge twice during daytime and overnight. And it’s nothing too demanding - browsing, email, KZbin etc.

You do realize as devices get old on of two things will happen, battery is old and needs replacing, this is an honest thing or the software is updated to refuse charge or show faulty low battery, this is done to encourage you to buy a new device.

For old devices software updates will intentionally not accept a charge or show a faulty low battery. If you removed your battery and tested it most times it is OK sometimes it is just to old so battery needs replacement.

I noticed it started to drain when l got my Apple Pencil. There's also advice saying the Apple Pencil should always be attached when not in use. Not sure what to do now.

I’m currently using i pad 9 , had just purchased it 4 months ago. But nowadays at low charging like 20 percent it will start draining fast somewhat 1 percent within ten seconds and same thing while charging up

I have same issue my iPad 9 is still in warranty and the battery is already getting worse and I take good care of it lost 5% just watching 2 mins of KZbin from 39 to 35 now on 34 with low power mode, seems apple want us to upgrade lmao the iPad 9 was an upgrade for me

I just got the iPad 12.9 m2 and I swear I can use it for 1 to 2 hrs and the battery drops to 50% but take so long to charge this is a new iPad and the battery horrible

Yes, I know. You may be able to use a larger charger to charge faster like the one for the MacBook Air

Iv turned off just about everything that feeds any information to apple. The apple pencil not having a power off feature is just annoying as the battery drain ruins the appeal of having it with your ipad at all times. Seems like a basic power button or switch is just too primative for apple these days 🙈

YW. I also noticed that if you go into Bluetooth and remove the Apple Pencil, it improves the battery even more and I do that if I am not using it for a while

@@ShutterFanatic Been doing that, it sure does help. But then, when I connect the Apple Pencil back when I need it, I’m surprised that the battery of my pencil has drained despite not being in use. Is this normal ?

My Apple pen died and I noticed that it does make a difference being connected and nearby. Now I will unlink it when not in use and it too makes a difference. Similar battery life to my old wifi ipad now.

it is all the location tracking apps on the device... my ipod touch 7th gen is worse.. I put it on airplane mode, and eliinated all the apps: SIRI, GPS, Maps (that can only be used while signed into wifi) any app that requires location information.. These app location things are only used to track and your location is sold to retailers to send your advertisements.. If you don't need it, TURN IT OFF or REMOVE IT from your device,, They only suck up power. and Invade on your Privacy... I didn't sign a contract with Apple allowing them to use my location and sell my info to retailers.. let that sync in...
