For me it does xD. I have a screw on the pinky side of my right wrist and moving my wrist hurts, even slowly. 5 years post surgery for TFCC and zero improvements after years of hand rehab. So I'm actually watching this video in a reverse way: Look at how he plays with his elbow.

I'm still not sure about my right hand (is it moving right or it's not),but it feels much easier anyway. Maybe now i know that exercises can be that interesting,and it's not just boring scales or something.Your licks are fun to play,thank you so much. I have recently started using the closed hand technique. I played the open hand technique for a long time and it never expected speed, but did create noise and inadvertent operation of the volume knob. It was a quick fix, that took a little time to get used to. At first, I was actually clenching my fist and caused fatigue, but after some practice and attention to detail, I was able to play like this in a relaxed form that is more comfortable and cleaner than before.

I look forward to working these new exercises into my routine today!

Everyone talking about picking speed, meanwhile its my fretting hand speed that is my biggest hurdle... Not that my picking speed is particularly fast, but my left hand cant keep up with it regardless.
@rasmadrak2 жыл бұрын
In my opinion it feels like it's all related. Any effort spent on controlling the right hand is effort lost from the left, and vice versa. 😂
@orshy12 жыл бұрын
I'd guess that that's probably not the case. It's most likely more an issue with synchronization than your left hand being incapable of moving faster than your picking.

Thank you for posting the only picking technique videos that seem to cover everything. I do have one question though, I’m not too obsessed with “shredding” or even tremolo picking, but my goal is to do early Metallica/lamb of god style triplets and quadruplets between chugs. I find that my arm locks up the moment I try and hit those groupings. Any tips on how to get those James hetfield rhythm guitar chug riffs?
