STOP Placing No-run First Inning (NRFI Bets) Until Your Watch This!!!

No-run first inning or NRFI MLB bets are not worth your time. A lot of newer sports bettors make them all the time.
I understand it’s your money and everything. You can bet how you want, but you are losing money by placing this popular MLB bet.

Basically, this a real quick MLB bet that a lot of people place every single day. The basic principle behind it is there isn’t going to be a run scored in the first inning of the game. Meaning, neither team is going to score.
For instance, teams in baseball score runs in the first inning 49% to 53% of the time. In fact, the 1st inning and last inning (9th inning) are when the most runs are scored in baseball. Also, the teams best hitters are batting during these innings.

Odds
The odds are extremely poor for NRFI bets, too. For instance here are the odds that you may frequently see:
-160 61.54%
-170 62.96%
-180 64.29%
-190 65.52%
-200 66.67%
Now, this type of bet has an implied probability of 49-53%, but frequently you are making a wager that has a higher than 60% chance not happening. Therefore, there is no real value in betting on No-Run First Innings Bets.
Moneylines Bets
Bet on moneyline bets that are -150 and under. That or take an underdogs which are plus money. For example, +150 would be a good upset bet to place.
Spread Bets
-1.5 runs (means a team has to win by 2 points to win the bet).
+1.5 runs (means a team lose by 2 points to win the bet).
Overs & Unders
You can take overs or unders. The two teams score adds up to the total runs scored.
9.5 under (anything under 9 runs wins)
9.5 over (anything over 10 runs wins)
Player Props
You bet on players instead of teams. For example here are some common ways to bet on players:
Player to get 1 hit +.
Pitcher to get over 6k’s.
Player to get a HR.
Pitcher to record a win.
Player to get over 1.5 total bases.

Glad you liked it! There are so many bettors that actually still bet with NRFI bets. I really can't understand it. The juice is so inflated and the likelihood of actually profiting longterm with this strategy is very low. REALLY LOW!!! I mean you would have a better chance finding the 8th wonder of the world (which is clearly MLB players using steroids from 1994 to 2004).

This is a great way to look at NRFI betting chances. Probability is especially important when considering placing your bet. Probability plays a major role not only in the amount of money you can make but also factors in which baseball teams you have a higher chance of betting in the future. The players usually score the most during the first because the players are confident and are not trying to waste time figuring out how the other plays like they would in football. Sports teams generally have consistent gameplay for most of the MLB season. For example, the Yankees with a pitcher on the mound who doesn't get a run in the first inning in most games would surely be noticed by the coach and be put on the bench. If any better players exist on the team, they would take the mound and subsequently carry the team differently, which would result in altering your odds of placing bets on the Yankees in their next game!

The thing with really bad pitchings is I like to take the over for the first 5 innings. Also, overs are great for crappy pitching ;) The Reds know a thing or two about crappy pitching LOL. That or take the opposing teams over a certain amount of runs/hits.

Good tips! I don't know much about betting, but your tip to bet on specific players instead of betting on the whole team makes a lot of sense.

Yeah, betting on a single player is actually a smarter approach. The problem with the NRFI is that the odds are already stacked against you and it's basically just a lottery ticket. I think a lot of sports bettors really don't understand the statistics behind actually betting on the NRFI.

I agree i do better on NRFI then ML bets. And the odds are never -180-190. At least on my sportsbook ive never seen it that high
