I wonder if (In this very specific Vayne matchup / 1:51) building an early Verdant Barrier would be worth it. With Verdant, you get the spell shield for 1100 less gold than an Edge of Night and the AP/MR is generally more useful on Skarner than AD/Lethality would be. The only problem is that Skarner benefits significantly from building health and Verdant/Banshee gives 0 while Edge of Night gives 250. I guess if someone REALLY hates getting condemned and doesn't mind delaying the rest of their build by 1700 gold, it would be a viable option.

The big issue I think is you're spending 1700g for an item that gives 40 AP, a passive, and no other relevant stats in the matchup. MR is useless vs Vayne so you're basically spending an extra 850 gold on a passive for a component you won't even upgrade to an item. You delay your powerspikes way too much and you'll be behind for the rest of the game and unable to realistically duel anyone.

Minishcap1 did a pretty fun build but super tanky, maybe if anything you can go Iceborn and Sunfire as well as Liandry for that double burn + perma slow? Skarner just looks so much fun to play! I can't wait til he's in Wild Rift.

Shouldn't you be building a lot more hp? I know you can't do heartsteel since you are vs vayne and most of the rest of the team is not close range at all. But I thought he scaled with hp? I'm just disappointed in him having 0 ad scaling on his skills, his W does good dmg at early game but no scaling to late game and the shield is negligible even early game. The range is nutty on his W but his R is a mindfuck. The skill's animation is completely different from the actual range which leads to some painful ulti attempts

Best role for Skarner is actually support. I go bramble, boots and then Spirit VIsage. As jungler I alter it a bit and go bramble, cinder, boots and then Visage. It is also fun catching Lee into E when he recasts his Q. Your E takes priority so instead of Lee doing dmg to you he gets caught by E and, usually, slammed into the wall. :)

@@Jibbert There is way around it. When he goes through wall he does not announce it like Kayn does. Besides cc supports can stop any engage support, not just Skarner. That is not a reason not to pick engage support. Also Skarner E can make most junglers disengage your adc so you can save him from gank.

Well, mid scarner is kinda troll. The build tho, can be extremly annoying as sup, cuz W is good trade tool, E is good peel, ult is ult, and q is one time poke from out of vision. Sup upgrades are almost all look good. Fimblewinter as a rush is affordable. I would change resolve for item cd rune tho
