Stop PS5 From Turning On TV / Monitor | Remote Play Fix

Its not working on my new 30th anniversary portal after the second update 4.0.1 it won't connect to Ps5 it must wake up to connect for me at the moment?! It did work before second update but maybe you can tell me if your's is still able?

I'm so glad I'm not the only one! Every time my portal connects now it's powering on my PS5 from rest mode - it must just be a bug with the update.

​@alfiecornelius8246 im so glad im not the ONLY ONE aswell are you really having this issue aswell? Its the 4.0.1 update mines stopped working with! The Portal will not reconnect after ps5 goes in to rest mode no matter what i try it has to be activated with monitor on now! I was getting annoyed with it the other night having to run up and down the stairs to try chack the thing! Had to end up leaving the screen on for Portal mirroring remote play now! It was definitely working in the new 4.0.0 update but this second update to fix the stuttering they took it away!

@@Emtbtoday I have been having the same issue! As you say, I can't connect it with the PS5 in rest mode, it either doesn't connect or it powers my PS5 on now! I've left the PS5 on and turned the TV off, but that's because I'm only downstairs - I couldn't do that and leave the house as such, just in case! But yeah, no rest mode for it at the moment, they're either both on or both off if I need to use the portal 😂

Tv i can off manually as well... I just want to know.. If remote play is connected in rest mode.. Then will ps5 will be working normal as it does when connected with tv... Or it will be actually in power saving mode(rest mode) ? I meant if my tv screen is on and ps5 is connected in remote play... Should screen be off( no signal) or it will display remote play activities?

@mohit20387 great question, either way if the tv is on or off the ps5 will still wake from rest mode to use remote play. This video is to help those who use remote play but wish to have the tv off to save power!

Just got a portal myself and think there must’ve been an update… my controller wakes up the ps5 and turns on the tv as normal but when I use my portal the tv doesn’t turn on?

Hey Katelyn! The ps5 is supposed to turn on but the tv isn’t. This is good for when you want to game away from home and not have your tv turn on which will save you $$$ on the electric bill in the long run 🫡🎮🔥 hope this helps!

@@biggio2349I don’t think so, since your PS5 is turned off, it won’t be able to receive the turn on signal from your portal. You would need an external starter to start the PS5 when it’s off which none of the consoles currently support. However you could always get an IOT physical switch that can turn on and off your PS5 physically by you remote the switch elsewhere .

this did not work! after following along, the portal wasn't connecting to the ps5 neither was my phone through the remote app. had to change the settings back by plugging the hdmi to a new port.

The PS5 still turns on no matter what bc of the remoteplay process. Thing is not having the monitor/ tv turn on when your not near the console.

That's what's it's supposed to do when you stream from the portal or other remoteplay devices.
