This makes sense scientifically. I have stopped oiling my scalp for the last 4-6 weeks. Then I realized my scalp is not dry & produces its own oil. I have had to get out of habit passed down from generations. Now I only use light oil (2-3 drops) on my mid shaft to ends 1-2 times a week

I knew you were the real deal because you were teaching the same thing the cosmetologist who taught me how to take care of my hair in the 80’s. I had a relaxer then, I thought taking care of natural hair was completely different. I went natural in 2010, without a big chop. I did the research, went though the trends. Then I found you and another licensed cosmetologist/teacher and I came back to the basic science. Products & tools are part of it but understanding the science is key. Your hair & scalp will be healthy and healthy hair will grow and retain length .

Or their is dry and matted and they found a miracle shampoo or hair mask. Or constantly styling their hair when they are supposed to be promoting low manipulation. listen… your channel is a godsend. you have literally saved my hair. i went through the cycle of trying a bunch of new and different products, pills, potions and all type of witches’ brews with no success. my scalp still had issues and no matter what i did my hair was still dry with clumps of hair falling out on wash days no matter what i did. after watching your vids, i threw out the myriad of products. now, i wash my hair weekly. i use only a few things. whereas Olaplex wasnt working for me before (due to all the extraness i was doing with oils and heavy butters), it is now. and all my scalp issues completely and literally went away after 2 weeks. my hair is no longer dry. i do scientific brushing once a week and i can see and feel exactly what you’re talking about with the sebum traveling down the hair shaft. i don’t find the need to oil or grease my scalp. it’s been a couple of months and my hair and scalp is flourishing and the growth is insane. every thing you have been saying is absolute FACTS and it works. i cannot thank you enough.

Sherri needs to book private lessons. My cousin (50+yrs old) was like her, she never did her own hair before the pandemic. She always went to the salon. I had to go with her to buy brushes and combs. I had to set a schedule and tell her what products to order. She’s back to the salon now but she can wash, condition , dry and style her hair if needed.

Great video! My sebum Production is not high, but it's there, I do shampoo bi-weekly and deep condition every month. I just add Jojoba oil on the ends of my hair. I only use 2 oils I mentioned 1 and the other is Macadamia oil. Thank you kindly God-bless you 🙏🏽 💞

I have an herbal oil mix. I can't change to one with a low cosmogenic rating since it's not readily available where I live. Will not use it on my next wash day. Massage your scalp with clean fingers so the sebum comes up or out onto the scalp

If your sebum isn’t coming out adding more oil won’t unblock the gland. Do a detox on your scalp and hairshaft to remove the build up blocking the oil gland. Oil will not unblock the pore. More oil will not unblock your blocked follicle.

I’m a herbalist I still talk about the same thing. I have over 1k videos on my channel and your speaking of one treatment. Those were treatments for certain scalp conditions and then shampooed out with a clarifying detoxing shampoo. My formulation cancels out the properties that make each ingredient cause negative reactions to the scalp or hairshaft. You weren’t paying attention 3 years ago. Nothing happened.
