In the first tip you showed, you can easily stop clipping by just turning off the move stud scale and moving it the slightest back, doing so will not need you to create two different parts. In the second tip you showed, it doesnt matter what the stud move scale is set to, you just need to hold down the controll button while moving, in doing so will move both sides equally.
