I don't think you need a large collection, I think for the average person, they end up with over 50 bottles because they fell down the blind buying trap and chasing compliments. I started getting decants from monthly subscriptions. And, if I like the scent, I'll save up for the full bottle.

You dropping a lot of gems here EQ. I learned early in this frag game that compliments mainly come from people you know. Early on I used to hope for compliments, but once I realized that I made sure to buy what my fiancé and I like. Compliments are cool, but not necessary I also hoard frags, especially if I spend a lot of bread on it🤦🏻‍♂️

I will also say I get complimented often on fragrances I wear, whether it cost me $20 or $200, simply because I like to travel and coordinate my fragrances with my outfit. However I find it hard to compliment other people simply because I really don’t smell other people wearing a fragrance or if they are it’s Santal 33 (Which I don’t like), or the fragrance is mixing with their B.O. 😬. And you asking that question made me realize a lot of people don’t wear fragrances as often as we might think they do. And I think the main reason is because people (in general) see fragrance as something worn on a special occasion, rather than a everyday staple to compliment your outfit/personality.

Once the bottle is done I don’t rebuy unless it’s special. No blind buys lots of sampling. It’s 80 degrees in LA at all times unless we are going to a fancy dinner or a special event I don’t pick up heavy fragrances. Also fragrance of the day is Imperium by electmuss four sprays done. Over collecting is what I call scented water paper weights. Especially if you haven’t worn it in months or years.

Totally agree EQ. I like to smell my best each and every day. Although it is great to get compliments, the scent is primarily for you to enjoy. The feeling I get from smelling a great scent on myself throughout the day is what makes my expensive fragrance purchases worthwhile. I used to buy cheapies. My 14 year old son now owns them all. When he wears them I realise they suit him more.

Great discussion can’t believe I actually listened to all 2 hours, good stuff Real topic, and some true gems. I’m new to fragcom community and I find myself doing exactly what your talking about (mistakes and progression in my decision making, cheapies vs quality, blind buy, etc.. ) as I go through this journey. Up to 39 in my collection gave out a few b/c I’m learning what I really like, got another 7 on the list to come but will now really start to be more strategic going forward. Appreciate you and the guests identifying the pitfalls and mistakes, some much hype out there and click bait where newbies can get influenced. I watched the video yesterday and immediately the next morning I found myself not interested in the Clickbait now that I’m educated, definitely will be taking things more serious and moving my money, more strategically in my fragrance investments.

I have plenty of bottles and wear sometimes two diff fragrances a day (one for my work day and a different one for the gym after work), but I got caught up in saving one particular fragrance for a special occasion. It was Bal d’Afrique and when I first smelled it I just KNEW this would be my signature scent. Ironically though, once I got a full bottle I kept telling myself to save it for special occasions. I didn’t even open the box for almost 2 months after I got it. Which is bad logic because a signature scent is meant to be worn often, as it’s a signature scent. Can’t really do that if you save it only for special days. After that realization I started wearing it a lot more and enjoying it for what it was meant to be for me.

I got 200 plus bottles.....I typically wear something new everyday... and I'll respray 3 times that day 5 sprays each time (cause I work 645 am to 1230 am Monday- Friday) so my bottles get usage. I mostly buy stuff that's considered compliment getting I won't lie but when you got 200 bottles you got em all.... sometimes the stuff ppl tell you get you complements don't... it's the stuff that fits my clothes surrounding and personality which gets me the compliments... especially when I go out and put a blazer on (which is every weekend).... the presentation of you is what gets you compliments... cause these women be in the face of dudes smelling like weed smoke n black n milds lmao.... so it really comes down to attraction n presentation.... wash ya ass cut your hair wear well fitting clothes that's 85% of the compliments lol

True, but not once in this video did one person say ppl should buy fragrances for the lifestyle they want to live. I specifically said what you are living. Just like in my last video when I asked ppl why they are buying the thing they are buying. Especially when they don't have two times their collection value in their savings. Most ppl got a closet full of fragrances, but if they found themselves unemployed, they couldn't liquidate enough cash for a year to maintain their lifestyle. This isn't something I've made up. This is proven data that most ppl are living check to check and have never seen an 800 plus credit score.
