I'd love to see a battery electric locomotive as part of your roster. You've got some experience with that sort of motive power now. Don't know how much change in elevation your line has, but it could be a pretty efficient thing if it could do regenerative braking. Maybe something with bogies, using cheap lead acid batteries to add weight and traction over the wheels?
@cpt.mirones51093 күн бұрын
i dont think regen will be an option the tracks surface contacting the wheels is to narrow so i would expect some slipping. a wood gas Powered compressor cart behind the pneumatic loco sounds quite steampunkish. alto i would love to see diffrent prototypes so people around the world can make their own field rail based on local needs.

If you got excess money you could build a manure unloading machine, where you can dump the wagon's content on and a conveyor belt transports it up and then down a chute which you can point to different positions in the field. :) Guess the manure itself will be loaded directly into wagons now, instead of wheelbarrows, right? Otherwise, you could also build a wheelbarrow to wagon loading machine :)

IMO, there's not a lot of point making a self-powered locomotive with the size of your railway. If it works fine being pushed and pulled, you might do better going back to the old ways and sorting out a horse harness for it. Or hack apart a bicycle and mount it to a wagon, so you can have more efficient human power.
